BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the owner of an ecommerce store selling stress relief products, such as meditation aids, kids fidget toys, candles, bath bombs, self help books, essential oils and calming jewellery.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Double Fried Digital, and what were your goals?

I needed a new agency to help with Google ads management. My aim was to find an agency that provided better service (more responsive to queries) and lower fees than the agency I was with at the time. While still maintaining (or ideally improving!) my sales results.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Recommended by my business coach, she had been very happy with the services Josh provided her business, through the other branch of his company, Neon Treehouse.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.

I started by completing onboarding forms, to brief Double Fried about my brand, my customers, my competitors and my business goals. I provided access to my Google ads dashboard, so Double Fried could see what my previous agency had been doing, and could take over from there. My key deliverable was to reach a minimum net sales figure each month.

My previous agency had been getting good results, I just wanted to maintain these results but with an agency that was more responsive to my queries and was more affordable. The previous agency's fees were so high they were really eating into my profit. Initially, Double Fried only worked on my Google ad management. Over time we added social media ad management and newsletter / content creation services.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Josh, the Director, spoke with me and emailed me regularly early on, and then I primarily dealt with the General Manager on my account. Several other staff at Double Fried also worked on my content creation and google ads management.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I have been consistently reaching my monthly net sales goal. The month of August 2022 has been my best month for sales since starting my business!
My account manager Allein responds to my queries usually within a day (not a week or more, like my previous agency!). Even with the additional digital marketing services, I am only paying half what I was at my previous agency (but getting the same sales results!)

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication is excellent - Allein responds quickly to my queries, she liaises effectively with the other Double Fried staff working on my project, and she provides regular reporting of results.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Value for money. Ability to cater for very small businesses with small advertising budgets. Personalised service. My previous agency seemed to have a standard approach for all clients. Whereas Double Fried really got to know my particular business, and was able to tweak my digital marketing strategy to suit my unique situation and provide me with the best possible results. Fantastic communication with my account manager Allein - she responds so quickly to my queries, she is knowledgeable and friendly to deal with, and I feel like she really cares about the success of my business.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Early on there was a hiccup with lower than expected sales, and I think it took a little longer to sort out than it should have (a previous account manager at Double Fried was not as effective at communication as Allein is). However Josh was able to clarify why my sales had dropped and suggested a new approach going forward to resolve the problem, which proved effective and things have been running smoothly since.
