what is your role at your company?

Founded in 1950, our school is the central school in Hexi District, Tianjin. It has been invested by the government over the years. The buildings and equipment of the school have been continuously enriched and well transformed.

It has been continuously rated as the National Advanced School of Moral Education Experiment, the National Advanced Unit of Red Cross Society, the National Advanced Unit of Health Care, the National Advanced Unit of Trade Union Work, the National Advanced Unit of Small Spark Activities, the National Advanced Collective of Science Popularization, the National Advanced Unit of Youth Science and Technology Activities, the National Advanced Unit of Art Education, the National Advanced Unit of Sports Standards, the National Track and Field Traditional Sports School, the National Famous Sports School and the National Red Flag Brigade of Young Pioneers.

Besides, it has also won the National Golden Key Award for Teaching Reform in Primary and Secondary Schools. The school is the Tianjin 3A School, Tianjin Quality Education Demonstration School, Tianjin Advanced School of Ideological and Political Work, Tianjin Civilization School, Tianjin Language Standardization Demonstration School and Tianjin Green School. I serve as the Director of General Affairs and responsible for the financial management, property management, logistics management and procurement management of the school.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with the vendor? 

Our school needs a unified computer and mobile system management platform to help our school solve the requirements of mobile office, mobile educational administration, attendance management, student enrollment management, security management, student & teacher archives management and campus all- in-one card services, etc. We searched the official website and service information of the service provider through Baidu. And we believed that the service provider could meet our requirements through pre-consultation and checking the system introduction and service cases provided by the company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

• The service provider provided technical support service for our smart campus platform;
• The company learned about our specific requirements through communication and then combined with their own technology to build a smart campus platform according to our requirements;
• The company provided platform construction at early stage, technology support service, use teaching and later operation & maintenance services;
• The company used cloud computing technology, artificial intelligence technology and big data technology, etc.

Our school sent the requirements document to the service provider and then the company sent specific platform construction scheme and quotation. After confirmation by both parties, the company started the service. During this period, we maintained close communication with the service provider on Dingding, We-Chat group and other platforms to learn about the solutions

From the service provider’s company, what is the team composition?

The service team provided by the service provider was composed of 10-20 people, specifically responsible for docking business, technology development, code writing, product design and platform UI design.

How did you come to work with the vendor? 

We found the service provider through searching its official website on Baidu search engine and started cooperation after pre-consultation and communication. The service provider had comprehensive technical capabilities and rich experience in relevant education industries with fast communication efficiency.

What is the status of this engagement? 

The project cooperation goes well and the cooperative relationship is still in progress. The project has entered the long-term operation and maintenance stage.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

The service provider was equipped with excellent project management. We communicated about the project progress with each other at any time. The company could give us feedback in time to address the delay situations or accidents, clearly explain the cause of the problem and described the methods, conditions & estimated completion time which should be handled. And the company completed the whole project in advance finally. We communicated with the service provider through Dingding group, We-Chat group, working We-chat, etc.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The service provider was equipped with outstanding technical capability, which quickly and perfectly meets the requirements of smart campus platform. Besides, the system ran well with simple operation and few bugs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The service provider could provide more simple platform technical description documents which easy to understand, so we could better report to our school leaders.
