Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the girls director of Juventus Academy Boston, a youth soccer club based in Massachusetts.

What challenge were you trying to address with DMR Videography?

We were looking for ways to differentiate our club from our local competitors. We noticed that there was a lack of storytelling through videography in our competitors’ platforms, and we saw that as an opportunity to start sharing our story through video content. Our main goal was to grow our social media presence to attract more players to join our club.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially hired DMR Videography to produce a video for our tryout campaign. The video featured 16–18 players from different cultural backgrounds, and it focused on conveying how diverse our club is. We decided to hire DMR Videography as a full-time videography partner due to how successful this campaign was.

They’ve since created banners for our site and social media channels, and they are now tasked with managing our Instagram and Facebook pages and overseeing the production of videos for different regions. We typically produce 6–8 videos in total per month.

There's a big Portuguese and Spanish contingent in some of the areas in Massachusetts, and their ability to speak Portuguese has been really helpful for us to understand the different demographics of the regions within our state and target each region individually; we’re able to produce not just English media, but Spanish and Portuguese videos as well.

We usually spend 3–4 hours in the field to film a video, and it takes them 3–4x longer to edit the footage. After the editing process, they send the video for me to check, and then make the appropriate changes based on my feedback. They're then responsible for publishing the video on our social media channels.

We solely work with Diego (Creative Director).

How did you come to work with DMR Videography?

We found DMR Videography through an online search. We reached out to them and asked them to bid for this project. We felt really comfortable after our initial meeting with Diego. He’s a soccer enthusiast too, so he quickly understood exactly what we were looking for. He was also very open with us and he had a lot of ideas about helping us grow. So, after we went over their previous work to make sure it was of high quality, we decided to go with their company for this project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $50,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Ever since we started working with DMR Videography, we have seen over 500% growth in our club members, which grew from 450–500 to over 2,000 players. Our video content has helped dramatically increase our social media followers, with our Instagram following having increased from 1,000 to 4,200 followers. This dramatic increase in our social media following and reach allowed us to obtain more sponsors for the club.

The initial investment for new players is around $2,500–3,500. If 15-20 new players join the club, that would be more than enough to cover the cost of DMR Videography’s services. Just based on these numbers, we can say that they’re definitely worth the investment.

How did DMR Videography perform from a project management standpoint?

DMR Videography has been doing great so far. We’ve never had any issues with meeting deadlines. They typically deliver the videos a few days before the deadline so we have time to go back and forth and make some changes before publishing them.

We mainly communicate through phone calls, texts, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m definitely the most impressed with DMR Videography’s knowledge in soccer. They already know the landscape and are able to help us translate it into the videos that we publish. I also appreciate their excellent communication skills.

Aside from that, they’re very passionate about this project, and it really shows in the quality of the work that they do. Their outgoing personality and great sense of humor make them really easy to work with. In fact, our players get really excited when we ask them to be part of our videos, which is really fantastic.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think it would be really good for DMR Videography to expand their company and hire more people. Right now, Diego does most of the videography work himself. Due to our club being very diverse and having several bases in the whole state, we can’t really ask them to be in multiple places at once and create more content for us.

Our intention in hiring DMR was to reach a larger audience with videos posted on our website and on social media

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We decided to continue with DMR because we really like their portfolio of work because we researched on social networks and found them very different.

We first met for an initial survey in which they asked us what we would like the videos to look like. After that, we scheduled the times and they explained to us how we should act in each of the videos and in each process they asked us what we thought

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

They shared each step of the project through Vimeo to find out about our opinions.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We got a lot of customers that generate a lot of good reviews until today.

They provided us with frequent updates on the entire project in a timely manner within our expectations. Diego was always very communicative and informed us about all the equipment and procedures.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We really like their differential with exclusive creativity.

No. We really liked the way they proceeded with the work.
