Distinctions Executive Coaching, led by Joanna Bown, provides executive coaching services to individuals and teams at senior management & board level. For the individual, the focus is often on personal career development, leadership, and specific work-related challenges. For organizations, the benefits are improved executive retention, as well as increased commitment, creativity, & quality of communication from the executive in question.

Prior to becoming a corporate coach, Joanna worked in investment banking with Citigroup, South Africa, for the most part as a Senior VP, overseeing multinational clients across a number of varied vertical industry sectors. She also managed the international business segment for CEEMEA from Brussels & London, covering 16 industries across 38 countries. Her experience in international business and banking structures has proved an indispensable platform for relating to & understanding the variety of challenges facing her clients. Joanna is an MCC accredited Master Level Coach with the International Coach Federation (ICF).

As a coach, Joanna’s core motivation is to help clients identify real meaning & purpose in their roles, given the speed & pressures of their external working environments. She does this by enabling the client to shift their perspective – creating self-awareness through mindfulness, building a resilient, grounded inner self, & helping them develop a new understanding of their patterns. In doing so, she aims to unearth latent potential, & helps them learn how they go about using that potential to achieve their desired goals. She also looks at how the client represents him/herself, their life, habits, relationships, body awareness, & self-care, as well as the amount of attention & energy that is available for change.
