I’m a mobile commerce manager for the airline Nok Air.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with DIGITOPOLIS Co., Ltd.?

We went to them to build our mobile app. We were the first airline in Thailand to sell tickets through a mobile app and we brought on DIGITOPOLIS to help us achieve that. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

DIGITOPOLIS designed the UI/UX of the app. They made suggestions based on their expertise on how to provide the best user journey, specifically for users in Thailand. Their team developed just an iOS version of the app, although it’s available on Android and Huawei App Gallery as well. They used a native language to develop the app.

What is the team composition?

I work with their project manager, his assistant, and the developers.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost so far is around $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with DIGITOPOLIS in June 2010, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We got a lot of positive reviews after launching the app, and the average rating was 4.2. DIGITOPOLIS Co., Ltd. has always supported us, and they fix any bugs or issues quickly, even at night time. I’d recommend them to others. They have a lot of UI/UX design experience and can find an answer to any app-related question. Their team also tests everything before launching to the App Store.

How did DIGITOPOLIS Co., Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

We haven’t used any project management tools. We just use spreadsheets and communicate through email, phone calls, and text.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s their design capabilities. If we’re not sure of what we want, they do some homework and get back to us with a design that meets our needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve used other third parties for our application, and DIGITOPOLIS Co., Ltd. has had to work with them. For example, we’re using push notifications from a provider based in Turkey so there’s a time difference. I let them work together but they couldn’t communicate properly so I had to act as translator.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I’d recommend them to airlines and other businesses that deal in ticket selling. DIGITOPOLIS Co., Ltd. is good at building systems for booking tickets and making payments.
