Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the owner of Scrap Global, a Gold Coast Rubbish Removal Company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Digital Surfer, and what were your goals?

I initially hired Digital Surfer to generate more leads for my business, I was using paid ads to get leads however it didn't have a very good return on investment. I'd tried SEO in the past and didn't get results so was very skeptical to try it agian. I met Peter with BNI and decided to give SEO another chance. I started with Local SEO and started to get results almost instantly, within the first 3 months I was getting more leads from Google than I was from paid ads.

I ended up stopping the paid ads as I couldn't keep up with the increased workload. After 12 months, I doubled my investment and started an organic SEO campaign. I no longer worry about where my next job is coming from. They also completely rebuilt my website and I now dominate my local area and get more leads that used to go to the big companies in my industry.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I met the owner Peter Curran at a local networking group. I like he's a straight up guy, just say it how it is. The difference is I get to talk to him and put a face to the name. He seemed believable and trustworthy and could share plenty of examples of other businesses and the results they had achieved so seeing the evidence helped me make the decision to try it. Plenty of other business owners in the group also were also singing his praises and talking about the results they were getting.

Apparently my website wasn't very good when we started. I couldn't afford to rebuild it at that stage however agreed to have extra content added. So they fixed up the website and then started working on my business listing. Kerry was the project manager. She was adding new content to the website every month, she would add my photos and new posts as well as get my listed on different directories. We had a brief meeting every month to discuss results.

She would always run through reporting and ask me questions if needed. What I liked best is that they got to know me and my business, and I was surprised by the results they were getting. I wasn't interested in how, I trusted them to do what they said they would and they did.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I first worked with Peter the owner. Kerry was the Local SEO Project manager that I worked with for over 12 months. Todd is the Website Developer that rebuild the website in 2021. Brodie took over as the SEO Project manager in 2021 and I still work with Brodie today. They all work well as a team. I have the one point of contact but they all know me and I could call or email any of them if I needed anything.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

In August 2020, I had 21 clicks to the website from the Google Business Listing, and 6 calls. 12 months later, in August 2021, I had 121 click to the website and 35 calls. That's about 600%.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They email me results each month however, I'm best on the phone, so if they need anything, they know to just call me. If I have any questions, I'll just call Brodie or Kerry directly and they are always happy to help. They are so easy to deal with, nice to speak to a real person.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Results - they did what they said. No jargon or trying to talk around things. They make my life easy. They add content all the time and don't need to ask me heaps of questions. they just understand my business. They also have experienced in paid ads, seo, and websites so they recommend what they think is best and why. I think what makes then different is they are honest and real.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No. I've been with them for over 2 years now and I'm very happy to recommend them.

Online lead generation from our website through SEO and paid ads, we needed to obtain our ideal client straight away and also on a long term basis. We were aiming to have a 3 times return on our investment into the online marketing.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They created an online strategy that identified both paid ads and SEO would assist us and gain the greatest return on investment. We were aiming to achieve 3x return on investment and this has exceed this experientially.

We engaged them to complete paid ads through Google, Bing, Facebook and LinkedIn. We also engaged them to complete a full SEO campaign which provided reporting, content, backlinks and optimisation of the full website.

We worked with 3 staff on the actual project and Peter at the beginning to engage with the business. Sam looked after the paid ads and Ryan and Brodie looked after our SEO campaign.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

On average we spend $45,000 with Digital Surfer for their marketing services and $40,000 on paid ad spend. As the years have passed each year has increased in the amount of leads and converted sales. In the last 12 months we have invested $85,000 into online lead generation and have returned $936,000 in completed business off these leads.

Their team is based locally so we initially had a meeting with Peter then a meeting with out project managers. We meet on zoom every month to discuss campaign and receive detailed reporting each month on all sections of our campaign.

We also hear from them during the month, rather than just on our set monthly catchup. The whole team is also accessible and very responsive via email and phone any time during the month as needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Customer service, transparency and all of the team being locally based so they really understand our market.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No I can not fault them on anything.
