BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

HandsOn Twin Cities (HOTC) serves as a connector between thousands of individuals and nonprofits serving the community. We engage volunteers in a variety of ways, including more than 30,000 corporate volunteers annually, to support a network of more than 600 nonprofits. HOTC provides an array of services for nonprofits to recruit, retain, and engage volunteers to better deliver on their mission.

As Program Director, I lead the nonprofit membership program and delivery of services to members, developing strategies and partnerships that support strong relationships with nonprofits that help build capacity. I manage our searchable volunteer opportunity database, communications and support other nonprofit capacity building initiatives.

For what projects/services did your company hire Digital Mass?

Relatively soon after we implemented Salesforce last year, it was pretty clear that there were some gaps and that we needed to build out the platform to better fit own needs. We realized that we wanted to be able to dig a little deeper into the data and really make an impact in not only our reporting but also how we operated. That is where Digital Mass helped.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were connected through a colleague who was somewhat familiar with Digital Mass.

HOTC engaged Digital Mass to achieve three areas that were initially identified: expand reporting capabilities; streamline and add fields; and build out the system to support HOTC’s pro bono program.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We primarily worked with an awesome team of three who were avaialble for questions anytime.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

From the first meeting, they honed in on our top priorities and identified ways for us to expand how we use Salesforce. In a short, five-week period, they were able to empower us with the tools to transform how we operate.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

During the five week engagement, the Digital Mass team connected daily with HOTC team members in order to assure that the process was progressing, identify areas to further refine the program and to provide training on the platform.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Digital Mass helped us unlock Salesforce’s potential to the fullest.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None.
