Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of a startup that provides AI-based on-demand transit solutions.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Dexalo?

We needed their expertise for a research project. We were specifically looking for experts who could help us set up machine learning pipelines and infrastructure and advise us on the overall technical design of our next-generation solutions.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dexalo works with our research and development group as an integrated extension of our team. They provide expert advice and work on implementations and prototypes. The engagement is scoped for five months, and they’re contributing to our code base while building the infrastructure. They’re also maturing our frameworks to integrate a new way of doing AI. 

What is the team composition?

We work with 1–5 teammates from Dexalo.

How did you come to work with Dexalo?

I learn about Dexalo through their founder, who was in my professional network.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $5,000 on their services. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started in February 2025, and it’s ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re happy with Dexalo’s thoroughness and diligence. They go beyond the scope of work and provide thorough analysis and documentation. This makes it easier for us to make decisions. They always look out for what we must do and how we can think about the future. Having that constant strategic perspective is helpful because we’re a startup trying to optimize our operations. The Dexalo team helps us think through what our business will look like when we scale. 

How did Dexalo perform from a project management standpoint?

We work extremely agile, and we can’t predict what will happen with the project. We define general direction and goals weekly or biweekly and have weekly check-ins on the progress. We set ambitious goals for the week for what we want to deliver as a team, and everyone pitches in for that.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The Dexalo team has been able to adapt and help us focus on the experimentation process. They ask the right questions along the way.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re in a short-term project, but if it feels like a longer-term engagement, I’d like to include consulting groups in some of our team kickoffs and in-person meetings. I also like to include consulting groups in our general culture and how we think about problem-solving through more social and in-person touchpoints.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have regular check-ins with the project leader. Don’t try to get short-term outcomes. Spend time listening and asking questions to leverage the full breadth of their skills and expertise.
