Don’t all great stories start with a horse-obsessed little girl?

Once upon a time there was a horse-crazy little girl who was tall and skinny, and her mom couldn’t find any ready-to-wear jods and breeches for her to show in. As luck would have it, the little girl’s grandmother was a seamstress in the Garment District of New York City, so the little girl benefitted from custom, professional-quality tailoring that ended up turning heads at the shows with beautiful lines and amazing fit and fabrics.

And a family that embraces and supports that passion?

Next thing you know, the little girl’s dad is selling jods and breeches out of the trunk of his car at horse shows around the greater metropolitan New York City area.  The little girl’s friends loved them, and this little “side business” grew to the point it needed to be taken seriously. Thus, Devon Aire was born, co-founded by the little girl’s father and his good friend, another horse-show dad.

40+ years later, making riding affordable is still our passion.

Now in its fifth decade, Devon Aire is still owned by one of the two founding families, and remains utterly passionate about people being able to afford riding, and all the wonderful opportunities and character-building that brings, especially to our youth. More than just a less expensive price, Devon Aire is equally committed to quality, innovation, and value, and based on reviews, it’s working!
