Self-Match is a brand-new, single member LLC company. I came up with the idea of creating a compatibility application for partners where people can explore their compatibility with potential partners by creating custom-based surveys, sending them to their partner, and getting matching results. The idea is that after a user has found a partner on a dating site, then they can explore if that partner is right for them. My website has more than 300 questions that the user can use to create a custom survey. I'm the founder and managing member.

I needed a company to help me build a fully custom web-based membership application.

What was the scope of their involvement?
There are different membership levels and a calculator to calculate the ratio of positive to negative in order to compare partners. The coding language they're using is KPHP.
How did you come to work with DevTechnosys?
I knew I wouldn't be able to afford a company in the U.S., so I searched out a company in India. I narrowed my search to 8 companies. I wrote and sent a project description to each company. All of them said they could do the work and gave me a quote. What I liked about DevTechnosys was they asked lots of questions. They were very interested in my project and wanted to know all the details. They also offered ideas that could improve the project.

I communicate every day with the project manager. There were a couple of setbacks, but I think that's because I'm picky, and I came up with new ideas along the way. They've been very responsive. They respond within 24 hours, pay attention to the feedback I give them, and implement my requests.

I've never worked with anyone else except for negotiating with other firms on this project. None of them were as personable and enthusiastic as DevTechnosys. They pay attention to detail and try to see your vision and implement to the best of their professional abilities.

We both underestimated the difficulty of the project, so the project has been delayed, but that's not a problem. I come up with new ideas, and they're very patiently working with me. The different levels of membership and what each level can access them has been complex.

DevTechnosys developed a designer tool which people could use in order to go through the entire process online, without going to a physical location.
We had tried to build these functionalities in the past, but the company we used simply put together some plug-ins. DevTechnosys provided a lot of custom HTML coding, giving us exactly what we wanted.

Because DevTechnosys is based in India, there is sometimes a lag in our phone calls which can become frustrating. We've been able to resolve that by communicating through email. It's the only issue I have with DevTechnosys.

We are currently working with a large conglomerate in the drinks industry. The company was implementing a uniform service that allowed users to obtain a clothing size based on the measurements they inputted. The system was meant to decrease return rates and solidify the uniform contract for North America.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
DevTechnosys was hired to assist us in the process of coding and developing a front-end website and backend application that utilized our client's sizing technology. The front-end service identifies what the system did, allowing users to sign up and create profiles as well as allowing brands to create accounts with backend access, thus reviewing and identifying the measurements of their clothing. Our technology includes a widget through which the technology can be inserted into different websites as a white-label product. It installs into pretty much any website and can spit out sizes bases on the calculations customized in the backend.
The system also has reporting functionalities, and it can be used for dynamic commissions for each item entered into a cart. On top of reducing returns, it can also help clients make money on the front-end as required.
How did you come to work with DevTechnosys?
Our vetting process was quite extensive, focusing not only on price but also on competency and process flows. DevTechnosys had been mentioned to us on a couple of occasions, and we got in touch with them. DevTechnosys is a very structured group in terms of handling business and responding to clients. They have a detailed process flow, following best project management methodologies.
How much have you invested with DevTechnosys?
The project cost was more than $50,000. I estimate that the same work would've cost us threefold in the United States.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with DevTechnosys at the end of summer of 2016. We're currently undergoing a final review of our project.

Our client has loved the tool built by DevTechnosys. There were some tweaking recommendations from their side, but this is true of any project. The solution is highly customizable, with many options for user-friendliness.

DevTechnosys has a PMP [project management professional] certification. Their team has followed those standards closely, addressing legalities, following up with clients and holding them accountable when necessary. Projects will always have scope creep if the customer isn't kept in line.
What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?
I've appreciated DevTechnosys' follow-up and responsiveness. This isn't seen a lot. Every communication has been dealt with and responded to in a timely manner. We usually saw replies come in 24 hours at most.

Sandwich Islands Publishing is our company, and we're based in Maui, Hawaii. I'm in San Diego, California – I work remotely. We've been a publishing company for 35 years now. We publish an annual visitor guide for Maui called Best of Maui. It's a hardbound book that goes in the hotel rooms and condos there. We contacted DevTechnosys a few years ago for the first time to help us with app development for the iOS and Android platforms and to help us with our website and to try to integrate them together. I am the production manager.

What challenge were you trying to address with DevTechnosys?
It was for building two apps and web development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I'm more on the art director and production designer side of the business and do writing and creative stuff like that. As far as the whole programming, that's totally foreign to me. We had a basic website set up before that was taped together. They were helpful to get us into something that looked much better, and it functioned extremely better. It was much easier for us to do updates. They did the front-end and backend development of the site. It's completely a brand new site.

The original contact was through Elance [now Upwork]. I had put up a help wanted listing with a description of what I was looking for and had several companies contact me. They were one that seemed to have some samples of what they had done and had a good grip on what we were looking for.

What is the status of this engagement?
It's ongoing. The last iOS update broke our app, so they've been working on that. It's been a few years since we've done our updates, so they've been working to rebuild a new app from the ground up on both Android and iOS and reintegrate it with our website and did some updates with the website, too. We started in the summer of 2013 – maybe July.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
I don't have anything. I have snapshots of different days, but it's one of those things we haven't been keeping up on. We need to have that for our media kits, too, and we don't have it. How we gauged it is through our advertisers. We have many advertisers in our book – more than 100 different companies. They're the ones that have seen an increase of people coming in with the app in their hand and asking questions. Some of them said when they get a phone call, they'll ask what the source was, and they've definitely seen an increase, too. The book is there when people get to the island but, with the app and website, we catch people before they get to the island, which is important so they can pre-book stuff.
How did DevTechnosys perform from a project management standpoint?
They've been great. I've spoken to them a few minutes during the whole period we've worked with them. We do many messaging through Skype and emails. They're great. I'm on Pacific time here and even when I'm in Maui – I don't know what time it is where they are, but they always know what time it is where I am, and they hit me up. They know I'm up at 7 in the morning, and that's when the messages start rolling in. Even before I go to bed, they'll still be messaging me, which I think might be their morning. They're good at accommodating my schedule and keeping track of my schedule to know when the best time is to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?
They seemed to understand what I was going for with the app design from the beginning. We have a map that's integrated with our listings where you can click on the map to see the listings, locate yourself as a Google Maps or Yelp would work, and be able to see what's around you. That was important to us. Many of the other people that were pitching us couldn't get that concept. They immediately understood it, and they had some sample screenshots right away for us. Then, in developing everything it came out very well, and it integrated very well. The other thing I appreciated was they build the administration panel for the website to where I can edit the listings live and everything updates in the app and the website immediately.
Are there any areas DevTechnosys could improve?
Everybody always wants things done faster. When I find bugs and give them the bug fixes, they're usually back the next day with an update of the apps. They're very quick and efficient. Right now, we're off the App Store with our app on iOS and waiting for this update. We should have it going tomorrow or the next day. I don't think it's any fault on their part at all. I think any other developer would be in the same timeline. Communication has been great. When I give them changes or explain what I'd like to see different, they have a great understanding of what I'm looking for. The next update usually has it fixed well.

I’m involved with many companies mostly as external consultant. My main company is Rocksoft Ltd. We do business enterprise software implementation and customization with Oracle.

I am the Business Development Manager.

What was the business challenge that you were trying to address? What was the goal of the partnership?
The challenge we wanted to address with DevTechnosys to automate our sales channel and design a channel for a wardrobe business with an option to expand this solution later for furniture as well.
Goal of the partnership was to develop that solution with all the e-commerce functions
What was the scope of the project, and can you describe the specific services that were provided?
The scope was to design and develop web based e-commerce solution, where customers can choose the wardrobe design from available templates and customize it according to their needs. From the partner side, we used design and development services.
SOLUTION
What was your process for selecting this company to work with? Why did you choose them over others?
We selected them from a portal of freelancers. We got lot of proposals and did evaluation for selected ones. Their proposal was very clear and they understood the needs and our business process. They also had experience with more or less similar projects.
Can you give us a general estimate of the size of the project in terms of dollars?
The project cost was around $60,000.
What was the timeline of the project (start and completion date)? Is it ongoing?
We started with DevTechnosys in March 2015 and the project was completed in October of the same year. We finished the project, and the second phase is currently in a planning stage.

What were the results of the project? Are there any success stories or metrics you can share?
The development side of the project was done very well. We are currently doing integration with factory inhouse. We do not have any metrics that quantify the success of the project right now.
When working with this company is there anything that sets them apart compared to other partners you may have worked with?
They have very strong communication skills. Their response time is quick and their delivery is fast.
Do you have any constructive criticism? Is there any area that they could improve?
Not really, it would be great if they had more skillsets at their disposal, namely Oracle. Then I would be able to use them for more projects.

We are an Australian-based company and handle IT-related projects. We have been working with DevTechnosys for 2 years, and we did multiple projects with them. We worked together on various mobile apps and websites. They are still working on a mobile app for us. I am the sole proprietor.

What challenge were you trying to address with DevTechnosys?
I was looking for a company that could give me a good fixed price since there's not much money at my end. This was my first endeavor into outsourcing, and I wanted them to develop a good product for my clients and me. At this initial stage, all are for my known clients. I don't have much knowledge about web development, so they did all the development and design stuff. They delivered three projects for me.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They provided web design and development services to me. They developed my website using Cake and CI. We needed all three websites from sketch and wanted to create a modern and updated look as well as a user-friendly experience.
How did you come to work with DevTechnosys?
DevTechnosys came recommended by a colleague. We started working with them for one project, and then I started using them for other projects. I talked with others, but they were much more costly for me compared to what DevTechnosys quoted. Another big reason behind chose them was that they delivered a successful project to one of my friends.

We started working together in March 2015. Our projects completed in February 2016, but we have another one in the works for DevTechnosys.

It’s a new site that I’ve set up. It’s a buy back trading site. We trade in old DVDs, games, and CDs for cash. The products and prices are fetched from Amazon’s API using algorithms to calculate different percentages of the prices. I am the owner.

What challenge were you trying to address with DevTechnosys?
I was looking for someone who’s done this type of work before, especially with Amazon API. I had other projects I’d done in the past which did not go according to plan because the person I’d used didn’t know enough about the project itself. When I approached DevTechnosys, they actually understood the concept perfectly. Not only that their coding is excellent, I’ve been very impressed and I continue to use them today.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
It’s mainly the understanding of the project itself. The management of the project was excellent. The communication was excellent too. The price they quoted for me was fantastic.
How did you come to work with DevTechnosys?
I checked the other work they’d done and also called some references to find out how other people dealt with them. I thought I’d give it a go to see how good they are, and I was blown away by their expertise.
How much have you invested with DevTechnosys?
So far, it’s been just over 47,000 pounds. You can put it in the $50,000 to $200,000 range, but it’s still ongoing and there’s going to be an app designed as well for iOS. That’s going to be the next stage.
What is the status of this engagement?
It’s ongoing. I started in March with them.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
I will continue to use them for the foreseeable future. Their bug testing is excellent. If I find anything, they fix it the same day, which I’m really impressed with. Most other designers I’ve dealt with have taken one or two days to get things fixed.
How did DevTechnosys perform from a project management standpoint?
When I started with them, they were quite slow. That’s my personal opinion. But after getting involved in the project itself, I found them very excellent with their communication skills and they got back to me on time - very quickly while the project was going on and still today.
What did you find most impressive about DevTechnosys?
What impressed me is the ongoing support I’ve gotten from them. They have helped me a lot with ideas which others don’t do. What I would tell them to do, they would just do, whereas DevTechnosys comes up with better solutions to the problem. They actually find a better way, which I like. It’s like they’re involved in the project itself.
Are there any areas DevTechnosys could improve?
Not really. I was amazed at the fact that they excelled on the project to the degree they did. The quality of the communication and how they got back to me really quickly was great. At the moment, I don’t think they should change anything.
