I hired Leith from DeCypher labs to help me create a proof-of-concept where I use ML to analyze vulnerability data from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Vulnerability Database (NVD) via api call.

I selected Leith based on our initial interview. He was easy to communicate with and offered some great ideas to help the project succeed.

We had two phases over 8 milestones wheee Leith helped create the AWS infrastructure for the solution, do extensive data engineering to get the api data to work with the Forecasting ML model.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project was definitely a grind but Leith was very patient and hardworking with my requirements and the complexity of the data engineering aspect for the project. Leith was great at communicating every step of the project, which I really appreciated. He also went above and beyond to provide extra work needed to bring this project home outside of the last milestone.

We had casual daily check ins in the morning. Didn’t feel like a meeting (which I prefer) and we usually covered a lot of planning for project steps during this time, and also brainstormed ideas for the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Leith and his company are very available and very clear with communication. I have worked with a few other companies that were not as timely and clear with communication and project objectives. I got lucky working with DeCypher Labs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would say that the project was great and nothing I can think of that could have been done differently.

This was an exploratory project with goals focusing more on learning and gaining insights about future steps.

We held daily meetings where DeCypher updated us on progress and issues. Constant communication through Slack.

They communicated the underlying work in a way that our team could understand and build on internally.

Generally, establishing a stronger system for internally developing project scope and cost before the project starts. DeCypher should be 100% comfortable with the contract breakdown before moving forward and signing.

We developed a recommendation engine leveraging an existing model on Azure's Machine Learning studio and took into account 1 years worth of data to fine tune it. Productionalization of this model is still on going.

We validated our assumptions and were able to generate an initial forecast using the data. We also now clearly understand the next steps we will take.

Leith was very attentive to our needs and was honest about what could work and what would not work. It was a good collaborative effort.

Data Science is a complicated topic - but Leith helped to make sense of things and was able to relate the concepts into understandable chunks.

We wanted to speed up the process of patient onboarding, attorney reporting and billing.

I provided Leith with a large number of complex forms the patient is required to fill out during physician intake at a clinic. The expectation was to extract handwritten text with 99% accuracy to minimize the extensive data entry requirements of the staff at a small practice.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Leith recommended an affordable practical solution without extensive software development costs since our small practice wouldn't be able to afford it.

We collaborated virtually over several meetings, both through online and telephone.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Leith was able to assist us in providing a solution that has never been offered to small physician practices in the past, only large hospital organizations.
