You need to communicate to the accountant what metrics you use to measure your affairs so that they don’t change you. It will come back to haunt you when they use their own metrics as a standard practice and apply it to your business.

It takes work and communication in that arena. It’s very critical to talk about what a transaction is, which account it goes into, how it’s bundled with other ones, and if it’s separated or combined. It’s hard to go back and undo a bunch of stuff.
