David Mullican studied at the University of Kentucky, College of Architecture where he received a five year Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1980. In the summer of 1979 David received a scholarship to attend The Preservation Institute of Nantucket a program through the University of Florida. During the summer of 1980 David studied architecture in Europe touring Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, Spain, and Austria.
