DataRabbit was responsible for developing AI and data analytics features to strengthen the SMS marketing platform for our client. DataRabbit built tools that allowed the platform’s customers—small and mid-size businesses—to easily create and launch intelligent chatbots, making it simpler to run marketing campaigns and improve communication with their users.

The new AI and analytics features made the platform more scalable and easier for customers to use. Small and mid-size businesses could now set up intelligent chatbots and launch campaigns with less effort, saving time and reducing technical complexity. The analytics tools provided clearer insights into campaign performance, helping customers make data-driven decisions and improve their communication strategies. Overall, the project added long-term value by strengthening the platform’s ability to support more users and advanced features without added strain.

• Create and maintain an initial set of Superset dashboards and reports

The AWS environment was available and correctly configured. Reports were available both internally and externally.

We used project management tools and kept track of tasks. We reviewed the status of all project tasks weekly and adjusted as necessary. Larger tasks were broken down into tasks that could more easily be managed... The project was run smoothly and efficiently and well communicated at each step. As things needed to adjust, we made adjustment immediately. Very well run project!

The company understands the AWS services and environment very well along with automation tools for deploying software. They also have a strong data acumen and background and understand how to manipulate data into various schemas for reporting requirements while maintaining the inherent data relationships.

Of course, we can all always improve. I was happy that DataRabbit was seeking to create better solutions continuously. DataRabbit tends to follow instructions closely and there are times that I'd like to see them do more research before following the instructions they were given, specifically in review and understanding of the data.

The objective of this project is to conduct a discovery phase that will help identifying current architecture, processes and implementation shortcomings, as well as proposed appropriate mitigation strategies and potential solutions in the following areas: 

• Data, and ML development and operation processes. Specifically, evaluation will be made (and guidelines will be provided) with regards to data organization and storage practices, incorporating feedback about the algorithms predictions into the overall lifecycle, assuring MLOps best practices are in place for models development, versioning, and deployment. 
• Data science algorithmic approaches utilized. Current general approaches will be evaluated, and guidelines for future data science directions will be provided, especially with regards to new NLP technologies such as transformers, large language models, and generative AI utilization. 

In addition to system/issues analysis report as well as proposed mitigations and recommendations documents, the outline for next steps, such as further engagement and projects (with potential duration and cost estimates) might be included if during conduct of the discovery phase Client and Service Provider will come to an agreement of it being beneficial for the future. 

Deliverables: 
Technical Analysis and Recommendations Document: A detailed document including the findings from the discovery phase, including the following: 

• Results of technical analysis of client systems, with sections on specifically addressing ML development, ML operations, and algorithms classes utilized. 
• Guidelines and recommendations for mitigations of the problems identified and future development purposes. 
• Reference. arch. and process diagrams for proposed improved system parts and versions, if applicable. 

Next Projects Plan: A plan that outlines the further work based on the analysis results and provided mitigations and recommendations. Should include initial estimates for resources, timelines, and costs for the recommended follow up steps/projects. This deliverable may be optional depending on the discovery phase course and agreements with the Client.

datarabbit assisted the customer with cloud infrastructure supporting their solutions. This involved reviewing the current infrastructure, re-architecting it, and building high-quality, modular Terraform-based infrastructure code — primarily supporting AWS-hosted applications. 

This included migrating containerized applications to Kubernetes (K8S), as well as reviewing the current utilization of AWS services and addressing identified issues to adhere to cloud best practices and the well-architected framework. Due to the client's business domain (healthcare), special consideration was given to further security hardening.

 The project is still ongoing, and the new, improved cloud infrastructure will be further extended with the automation of delivery and deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, datarabbit will assist with data strategy and the implementation of solutions enabling the harnessing of insights from company data using retrospective and predictive analytics.
