We engaged Dataco to create a single source of truth for our individual and household data across multiple systems. Our goal was to consolidate and standardize data from disparate sources to gain a holistic and reliable view of each entity. Dataco provided end-to-end support in transforming, organizing, and implementing processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.Key Deliverables:

Data Consolidation & Standardization: Dataco integrated data from various internal systems into a unified format, ensuring consistency and reliability. This involved mapping different data structures and attributes across systems to a standardized format, facilitating easier data management.
Duplicate Detection & Resolution: They implemented a structured approach to manage and organize data, which included a robust process for identifying and resolving duplicate entries. This made it easier to ensure data integrity and streamline the identification of unique individuals and households.
Golden Record Establishment: A key feature of the solution was the development of a process to establish a "golden record" for each entity, ensuring the most accurate and up-to-date information is maintained. This involved not only automated data reconciliation but also an approval process with human oversight to validate the accuracy and reliability of the consolidated data.
Data Infrastructure Development: Dataco also assisted in developing the underlying data infrastructure needed to support these processes. Dataco conducted an audit of the company’s architecture, and identified the objects using the most resources, their most-used dashboards, and their current caching policies. Dataco designed and implemented a plan to reduce the company’s overall BI tool and data warehouse costs, optimized their data group usage, and created reporting to track customer behavior & company KPIs.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Through the capability of Looker, the company can now effectively analyze the usage of their customers in one dashboard, with improved performance, reduced resource usage, and faster queries with lower running costs. These improvements are now helping the company’s BI team provide valuable business insights while improving collaboration and productivity.

Dataco has been extremely helpful in enabling us to make full use of our data. I highly value their holistic approach to data, which they have proven to us throughout the processes of data infrastructure set-up, data management and reporting. Another plus is that they have highly skilled experts on hand for all kinds of different tools and data platforms which can be invaluable when needing help on additional projects.

To be honest, I can't pinpoint any specific areas for improvement at this time. Our experience with Dataco has been overwhelmingly positive.
