We were developing a brand new therapeutic exercise program for older adults to use at home. It was a major challenge on a number of levels. We needed to work with a team that could help us design the app flow and UI.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We searched online through a number of platforms, and met with a number of agencies both large and small. We found that D4 Group fit our needs very well for a number of reasons.

They had a previous experience working on fitness applications
They demonstrated thought leadership around developing products for older adults.
During our initial call, they demonstrated that they clearly understood our needs, and had the capacity to think at a deep enough level to anticipate and overcome any challenges they would face during this project.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Their team spent the initial period engaged in interviews with members of our team and reviewing the work we had done thus far on both research and product development. They then developed an initial user flow for how the app would work. Once this was approved by our team, they went ahead and built mock-ups. After the mock-ups had gone through some iteration and been approved, the team then built the final designs, which also went through a period of review and iteration.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked mostly with their project lead and one of their designers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were very pleased with the outcomes of this project. One of the biggest concerns about this program was whether it would be clear and usable for older adults, and in this respect, the project was a resounding success.
