As the lockdown was announced in India due to COVID-19, we contacted Cynoteck looking for a solution that will help us conduct all our classes online and manage the entire course curriculum online for our students.
Additionally, we also needed a solution for email and document management, and it would be great if all systems worked well together. Cynoteck suggested that we go with Office 365 and Teams as they were trusted solutions from Microsoft and would integrate well.

The team took care of all aspects of the project, like the implementation, configuration, customizations, testing, and deployment of the solutions. They even trained our staff on how to use the solutions efficiently.
What was the team composition?
The team composed of 2 employees from Cynoteck who took care of the entire project.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
As the lockdown lasted for a few months, Teams and Office 365 have proven to be life savers for us. We were able to conduct all our classes online, manage our student’s course curriculum, have an email tool that can be accessed on-the-go and manage documents efficiently.
All our students, teachers and other staff were able to use these solutions from the comfort of their home. The entire system works seamlessly and so perfectly well that we cannot think of work without these solutions.
The fact that the Cynoteck team were so brilliant in their approach towards the project and communication with us, helped speed up the project delivery at such a critical time and there were no hiccups or roadblocks.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Since this was a small project, not much project management was required. But the Cynoteck team worked like professionals and it was evident from their approach that they are experts at this work and have been doing this for years.

Once we selected this vendor, we had a meeting to go over each parties' responsibilities and set timelines. Cynoteck's team worked with our controller to get all the necessary information and data in order to complete the migration and start the implementation.

4 people (business development, project leader and two project support staff) from Cynoteck attended our first video conferences. Once the project was assigned to the project team, the project leader became our point of contact. Throughout the entire process, the business development manager was copied on all correspondences and checked in with us periodically to ensure all our needs were met.

Within 90 days, Cynoteck migrated all our data from Quickbooks from Dynamics Business Central and also successfully implemented Dynamics Business Central.

The old general ledger could not support the growth that the firm has experienced. A new system had to be able to accommodate growth for the next several years. Cynoteck implemented the new GL.

The firm has used Cynoteck on many prior projects and the results have always been excellent. The team spent a considerable amount of time walking us through every consideration as well as creating custom features to fit our needs. We received estimates from other consultants that were significantly more expensive and less comprehensive in implementation ability. Cynoteck was the clear winner.

The steps were to have a mutual understanding of the requirements of the system to fit the needs of the firm, normalize the current data to match to the new GL requirements, set up the new GL, import the data, train on the new system, and reconcile transactions.

I primarily worked with the project leader and a developer.

The new general ledger has been able to do all we hoped it could and more. The time savings from having the right tool is significant.

The project was managed through Microsoft Teams. This was excellent because all of the calls were recorded for reference. The team broke down the project into smaller action steps that could easily be accomplished within a few days.

A higher level view of project deliverable and dates would have been helpful. There were misunderstandings about what each phase of the project constituted and the corresponding timeline.
GL mapping proved to be an issue. Much of the rework could have been avoided by the team and I spending more time in my showing how our transactions are recorded in the GL and the impact on the accounts.

E.g., They designed, developed, configured, and launched a new GDPR solution for Salesforce. The project began with a discovery workshop, which let us reach a mutual understanding of the business challenges and goals. Once we approved the workflows, wireframes, and mockups, the actual production began in the form of 2-week sprints. The functional versions were ready for user testing and feedback every two weeks. Improvements were made during each sprint thanks to key suggestions from their developers.
What was the team composition?
There were 2-3 people on our side and also in their development team.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The app was launched on Appexchange and received widespread acclaim, including at the Dreamforce event in San Francisco.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Project management was very impressive, especially compared to other vendors. Their team regularly complied with deadlines and always communicated delays well ahead of time. Unexpected turnover never threatened to stop critical progress. We communicated exclusively with Skype.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Clients have direct access to both project managers and the wider team behind them. This is critical because technical things can easily be lost in translation when there's always and only a single middleman playing the role of messenger. They prevent that issue by keeping the lines of communication completely open.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There is very little they could improve. My only suggestion for the inexperienced is to document as much as possible before brainstorming. Validating your project requirements will be much easier with thoughts already articulated.

The Power Automate project consisted of creating a custom connector for our practice management application and a scheduled flow that pulls in data from our practice management application and sends an email to each client listing any open invoices. The Dynamics 365 project, which is ongoing, consists of developing a custom solution to conform Dynamics 365 to our firm's needs, practices and procedures.
What was the team composition?
The team has not changed over time, except when necessary to add additional subject matter expertise. I believe the Power Automate project consisted of a one or two person team, but the Dynamics 365 project team is five or six. I have always interacted with an assigned project manager as my single point of contact. Consequently, coordination and communication have always been (and continue to be) easy.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The long-term impact will be profound because these projects have shown us that, regardless of our firm's small size, it is possible for us to have a custom practice management system that perfectly fits our needs. We do not need to settle for OTB solutions because Cynoteck's expertise, combined with IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, makes custom solutions a reality for small firms. The possibilities are limitless.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
We have been assigned a project manager as our primary point of contact. It has been perfectly effective.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Initially, we were (and still are) impressed by the high level of technical competence. As time goes on, however, we are increasingly impressed by the great customer service and kindness.

We hired Cynoteck to help us build an internal Safety and Training website for an Aerospace client to manage the required safety training that the employees needed to stay current with. The site built locally and then packaged up to be installed on their internal servers for viewing only within the internal network. My current staff was already pretty slammed and we needed to knock this out faster than my schedule would have allowed.

The project needed to be a responsive WordPress installation to run on an internal Linux installation on a Microsoft server. It needed to be developed externally and packaged up for importation onto the client's internal network. Cynoteck was able to help me ramp up production to meet the needs of a very good client.

I have had a working relationship with Cynoteck for well over 5 years now and have used them for multiple projects of varying technologies when i need to ramp up production or if there's a technology they specialize in that we might not delve into on a regular basis.

The project improved the efficiency of the client's ability to keep all employees current on safety certifications and keep track of and remind employees what certifications or classes they need to take by a certain date. This also allows the client to easily manage their corporate legal requirements of safety and training and is decreasing their internal HR costs of managing this aspect of their company.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Project management was smooth as usual, communication was done using skype to interface, and even though they are overseas, they are very accommodating on time consideration for the time differences and they are also very good with English and communication is far easier with Udit and his team than several other partners i have tried previously.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I really appreciate the ability to easily communicate with Cynoteck. Their technical expertise is fantastic, and their turn around time is absolutely stellar.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and founder of a Microsoft Power Platform solutions company. I specialize in Microsoft 365 Solutions, like MSM on Azure and SharePoint. We pay particular attention to the Microsoft Power Platform, so Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cynoteck Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd.?
A lot of our work is around automation and business productivity applications. My relationship with Cynoteck Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is to augment the services that we deliver. They help out with development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Cynoteck has helped with multiple development projects for our clients. They work on a project-to-project basis, as opposed to managed contracts. It’s been a broad range of projects. Early on, they helped with a lot of traditional web development projects on the Microsoft stack in particular, like .NET, C#, web applications, and Azure applications. They also did full-stack web development. More recent work of note was a scheduling application for a large trust plant manufacturer here in Australia to help them with their sales. The solution was based on Azure, Angular, .NET, APIs, and even elements of the Power Platform.
They also helped build a few solutions around automating the creation of Microsoft Team sites and SharePoint sites, as well as other artifacts in Office 365. They have helped in the area of Microsoft Dynamics. We’re using Cynoteck to help put together a proposal for another customer that is looking to move away from their current patient management system to something that’s a bit more comprehensive. That’s a work in progress, but I’m relying quite heavily on their expertise in that area.
What is the team composition?
I work with a project manager, a number of sales guys around Dynamics, and several developers. Over the last 10 years, I’ve worked with everyone from junior and senior developers to sales staff and Udit (CEO) himself.

Finding a good, reliable developer or agency isn’t the easiest thing to do. I don’t remember how I found them, but the fact that I’m still working with them 10 years later says a lot.

We started working together in December 2009. I’m currently waiting on a signature for a project that I plan to engage them on, which is a Power BI and Azure solution for a university in Australia.

They’re trustworthy. I have no reason to look elsewhere; they deliver what I need. The engagement with them has been great. Once I give them a scope of work, they will do what’s required to deliver the results as expected.

Cynoteck is responsive and well managed. They’re reliable. There aren’t any communication barriers.

I haven’t had anything to complain about other than constructive feedback at times, which is what you’d get with any organization. At times, they could have a better understanding of expectations. We have a solid relationship with them. They listen, are accommodating, and bend over backward to help out.

They deliver quality work. They operate not only out of India but also the US. They have good reach and quality customers all over the world. They have a good team. I have no reason to go anywhere else.

I’m the COO of Cadence Electrical Supply. We’re a distributor of electrical utility products.
What challenge were you trying to address with Cynoteck Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd.?
I’ve worked with them for a long time. I’ve brought them on to support a variety of projects including an inventory and accounting system.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Cynoteck Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has implemented numerous platforms over the years. Their team has built inventory management, billing, and project management systems.
They’ve also executed an accounting and inventory system, customizing the product to fit our needs. The project was huge. Their team interfaced with our client’s technical contact to complete the project using Salesforce technologies. They managed a significant amount of data including over 4000 skews, pre-agreed-upon prices, and over 100 shipped-to locations. To be successful on this contract, we needed to have EDI connectivity, which Cynoteck Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was able to create. This functionality allows our system to communicate with that of the client’s directly. For example, purchase orders that come from our client enter our Salesforce system as sales orders directly. Manual entry is no longer needed.

The accounting and inventory system Cynoteck Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. built has made my job easier. There’s way less manual input. What could take five or six full-time employees to handle, we’re able to handle with an inside staff of about three. Their team has been awesome. I’ve always liked working with them.

They have a great bug tracking system where you can actually create and design tasks for them. I can also get on a call with the principal. But if an assignment's technical, I’ll use the tracker. They’ve been succinct and accessible.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They don’t need a lot of touchpoints. Their team gets it. With most developers, you have to explain assignments down to the nitty-gritty details. Unlike competitors, Cynoteck Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. can bridge the gap between business needs and coding functions. Usually, you need one or two middlemen to explain a project but not with their team; that’s why they’ve been my go-to partner.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They had employee turnover about two years ago. The new employee took a while to get familiar with our project but that’s not their fault. That’s the nature of the world.
