Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the CEO of DriveTech Intelligence and we are specialized in Automotive Testing Data Intelligence and Analytics.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire CoreView, and what were your goals?

Building a unique Saas based platform for Automotive Testing data analytics, collaboration, AI/ML, and reporting all under one roof. Using this the Automakers benefit with rapid and precise development of their proto vehicles, their go to market time is reduced and also helps in reducing their warranty debits and avoid vehicle recalls.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We needed someone who had experience in handling terabytes of data effectively and develop a platform that is effective and scalable and also very secured.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We gave our detailed requirement to the CTO and had multiple round of discussion. Post deciding the strategy of development we kicked off initially with a team and scaled up as and when required. We had many iterations done for finding few suitable technologies and that too in a short span. We were able to freeze with a very advanced platform that can be scaled to any level in future.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We got many of our deliverables as per planning, in some it took time but in rest it didn't. But they made sure wherever we spent more time those were the key areas and it would have hampered the product later.

It was all standard and as expected. No barriers would come was made sure.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their team spirit and leadership were impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Being an customer expecting the IT services at more speed and scale.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and founder of Kinivo, an e-commerce company. We manufacture products under our own brands and sell them on Amazon. We make electronic accessories like Bluetooth products, HDMI switches, cables for audio and video, and computer peripherals.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with CoreView?

As part of our e-commerce operations, we have a lot of internal processes where we want to use all the customer data to see a customer’s order and ship them a replacement. We needed help to develop an internal tool to facilitate delivering products to customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

CoreView developed an internal-facing software for us. It helped us internally and ran in our cloud. One part of it consisted of internal tools for our customer service team. The second part was an internal tool for our data metrics, which helped our data analysis for profitability, inventory analysis, and more.

It was a mix of different technologies and platforms. Additionally, it involved a lot of database architecture, so there was some database organization required. They had an understanding of Amazon Marketplace Web Service, so CoreView hosted everything on AWS for us. They used Java and programmed some shell scripts in Perl. They also needed expertise in the Linux operating system.

We also worked on maintenance with CoreView in the past.

What is the team composition?

We typically had one developer, one tester, and one senior person providing guidance.

How did you come to work with CoreView?

We were introduced through a mutual friend. I visited their office, and I liked that we weren’t hiring just a developer but also some senior people to guide us through the process. I also liked that if a developer wasn’t available anymore, they’d provide a replacement and transfer the IP so our work wouldn’t be disturbed.

Also, they were really responsive, and we liked the financial part as well.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $100,000–$110,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2014–September 2015 continuously. Since then, we’ve worked in patches of six months to one year. Our engagement is ongoing, but it’s project-based.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

CoreView provided quality work. The software made life much easier for our customer agents. Also, our support team saved a ton of time from customer service operations by using API and facilitating tedious and lengthy processes.

How did CoreView perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very professional and responsive. They delivered promptly, and if something wasn’t going to be done on time, they’d notify us. Overall, they gave us good timelines on what to expect.

Moreover, the team was communicative. We used email, and they used a tool for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They understood how to architect cloud-based projects, which was really helpful. They knew how to build the applications around new sets of APIs and operate cloud infrastructure. CoreView could form a small team around any project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m nitpicky, but they could’ve suggested more modern frameworks for our UI.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set clear expectations and work with them to make sure the technical architecture is clear on both sides.
