What challenge were you trying to address with Consonance?

We needed help designing and building our product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Consonance is helping us design our product. They’ve started by doing a technical audit to understand our solution and goals. We’ve then compared ideas, discussed the possibility of different colors, and finalized our working system. After that, they’ve helped us prepare our prototype and software solution, and their team has proceeded to develop the app.

What is the team composition?

I work with a project manager and a business development manager.

How did you come to work with Consonance?

My friend worked at Consonance. We met with them and started talking about possible cooperation. I was surprised by their knowledge of the medical industry, so I decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent €25,000 (approximately $27,000).

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since November 2021, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Customer feedback about the app has been good.

How did Consonance perform from a project management standpoint?

Consonance’s project management is good. We’ve discussed everything before signing an agreement. During our kickoff meeting with their project manager, we’ve talked about their communication channels. We collaborate using IC Project, phone calls, text messages, Zoom, and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Consonance is open to validating the project — they focus on and think about their customers’ needs. They’re also good about giving suggestions and feedback, as they provide examples in the market. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The brainstorming phase could’ve been done faster and better. I’ve found things about the referred solutions that they didn’t include in their report.

Know what you want to do — they will help you create your idea, but they need the data.

I’m the CTO of a medical diagnostic equipment company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Consonance?

We wanted to implement new technologies into our existing products. We wanted to collect CTG tests from home at a hospital-quality level using mobile connectivity for data transfers. We needed the highest possible signal and measurement, so we decided to hire Consonance for this project.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Consonance designed the part of a medical device that translates and converts ultrasound signals into audio while transforming it from an analog to a digital format. They created the whole digital circuit based on some solutions from another company, allowing us to take analog information and transfer it via mobile connectivity.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with Consonance’s CEO and CTO as well some developers, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Consonance?

We chose Consonance for this project because of my previous experience working with them when I was at a different company.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent somewhere between $500,000-$1,000,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re happy with the product that Consonance has delivered.

How did Consonance perform from a project management standpoint?

Consonance performed well in terms of project management. They’re not perfect, but they’re always available and accommodating — we know we can count on them to fix any issues we encounter. I can also easily reach their CTO for any changes that I want to be made on the deliverables.

They send weekly updates on the project’s progress through a newsletter. We have to track progress on software, hardware, and feasibility studies, and that newsletter lets us keep track of our goals more easily so we can focus on our tasks.

We primarily communicate via phone calls, email, and Microsoft Teams, which we use to record our meetings. We also use GitLab for project management and SharePoint to develop our strategic plans.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with Consonance’s clear understanding of what we want to achieve, which allows them to produce successful results that match our needs. They have highly qualified and experienced engineers that can educate us on technical matters, and we’re highly confident that they know what we need and can provide it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Consonance could benefit from improving their project management.

I'm the CTO of the Advanced Diagnostic Equipment company. We are a start-up spin-off company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Consonance?

We hired this vendor to advise us on the best solution and implement it for us, therefore we decided to ask for Technical Feasibility Study and after TSF we have decided to implement the TSF by this vendor's staff.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

This vendor is a well-known company on the market that works in the field of medical devices, and our product is developed to be launched on this market, which is quite challenging therefore we have decided to cooperate with a well-known company with good outcomes.

The project is divided into several stages, including design, implementation, validation, and marketing. One of the key features is the design and implementation where this vendor has the highest impact.

CTO, IT specialists, engineers in different fields.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Thanks to the pivot thinking processes we have redesigned our product and now is the innovative non-invasive system. Without this vendor work, it would not be possible.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Everything was completed on time. We mostly communicated over emails and short calls. Whenever we had a question, they would email us back within an hour or even less.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are well-educated and are not scared to go outside their comfort zone, thus tailor-made solutions can be made.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I do not see such improvements at the moment.

It is our main project so we choose company with some experience with MedTech products.
