​Our partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council of New York, enables us to generate LEED reports and recommendations that encourage energy and resource-efficient buildings, savings from increased building value, higher lease rates and decreased utility costs.

Cogent was started by brothers Anthony and Nino Tristani, who leveraged over 20 years of experience to revolutionize the recycling industry and the zero-waste movement. Their father was one of the largest recyclers in New York, and was among the first vendors to be awarded contracts from the New York City Department of Sanitation.

​From humble beginnings recycling paper, cardboard, and plastics for third-party vendors, the Tristani brothers rapidly developed their business through relentless work, constant growth, and tireless dedication to excellence, and have built up a team of experts with experience in nearly every aspect of commercial waste collection. Their consultants are available to advise on a range of projects from customized green waste diversion programs to optimized collection schedules, ensuring that Cogent is, at all times, a leader in the field.
