Chiarella Law Office, P.C.

Michael Chiarella settled in New Hampshire shortly after graduating from Dartmouth College in 1976, having spent summers with his family at their Birch Point summer cottage on Lake Sunapee. He attended New Hampshire’s only law school, Franklin Pierce Law Center, now the University of New Hampshire School of Law, and graduated in 1984. He has been practicing law since 1985. Michael personally researches titles to real estate and conducts closings. Because of his long history living and working in New London and Sunapee and searching of thousands of titles to real estate over the years, he often has personal knowledge of the land, properties and its owners.

Susan Chiarella has resided in the State of New Hampshire since 1981 and attended the University of New Hampshire as well as the New Hampshire Vocational Technical Institute in Concord, obtaining her Certificate of Paralegal Studies in 1991. She has over 30 years experience in real property transactions, including all aspects of loan processing and closings. Her organizational skills enable her to respond quickly and knowledgeably to lending institutions, clients and realtors.

Chiarella Law Office, P.C. is presently an agent for two title insurance companies that regularly do business and insure titles in New Hampshire:  First American Title Insurance and Old Republic Title Insurance. Chiarella Law Office, P.C. is a member of the American Land Title Association and an affiliate of the Sunapee Board of Realtors.  In 2013 Chiarella Law Office was voted Affiliate of the Year by the Sunapee Board of Realtors.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

Michael and Susan are active in the community and donate time and services to various community organizations and projects. As board members of the Sunapee, Ragged, Kearsarge Greenway Coalition, Michael and Susan are responsible for maintaining and managing a part of the hiking trail that circles the Lake Sunapee Region for some 80 miles. They participate in the Adopt A Highway program, cleaning a portion of a road that runs from New London to Springfield known as Route 114. Susan serves as Chairman of the Trustees of the Trust Fund (an elected position) for the Town off Springfield.  She has also served as Chairperson of the Springfield Zoning Board of Adjustment.  Other positions include: Treasurer for the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation and a Committee member for New Hampshire’s Fish and Game Becoming an Outdoors Woman program.

Additionally, Michael routinely donates his time assisting the Ausbon Sargent Land Trust in their work preserving large tracts of land by researching titles for conservation easements and assisting with closings.

Michael and Susan live 10 minutes outside of New London on a 90 acre farm in the Town of Springfield. They raised one son who attended school in the Kearsarge school district. They also own a cottage on Lake Sunapee and are members of the Lake Sunapee Yacht Club. Michael and Susan are avid snowmobilers and skiers; they also enjoy hiking and sailing.
