I’m the CEO of an electronic distribution company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Chapps?

We were trying to connect, streamline, and automate everything and make the process faster for our employees. We realized we could make the platform self-managed by the manufacturers and other distributors and not just for our employers. We needed help with the UI/UX.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did the UI/UX for our platform. They started with the UI/UX and realized that a full-stack developer needs to be part of this. They also helped us hire a full-stack developer, who they allowed to work in their office free of charge, which is pretty impressive. They also supervised the job as well. 

I’m confident in them and plan to keep them on board as long as it takes. I’ll use them for maintenance as well and for adding features to the platform. There’s no reason for us to look elsewhere.

There are 3–5 people.

How did you come to work with Chapps?

They were recommended to me. From examples on their website and the sense I got from their competency, they were the right people for the job.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2018, and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They take good care to create the wireframes with as much detail as possible. Because the wireframes are fully detailed, they completed the UI/UX much faster than usual. 

They kept adding new features that I didn’t think of, which was nice. They went on autopilot once we got through half of it. They have extensive experience from other projects that they were able to bring into my project. For example, they set up a calendar and task management system for our employees on the platform in a way that made a lot of sense. 

How did Chapps perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great. We speak daily. They lead the way, and we feel like we’re in good hands with them. It’s been a long planning process, and they’ve been meticulous with it. They went well beyond what I originally imagined. They’ve kept things realistic and grounded. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

As far as value, they are the best that I could have found. They’re on point with the budget.

Besides the value, they went above and beyond what I expected of them. They’re amazingly autonomous. They’re able to figure out what we need before we even know what we need.

I’m extremely impressed with the lead designer. He’s glued to the project. It amazes me how focused he is. Everything that comes out of him is useful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I told them not to be afraid to go outside the norm, but they want to keep some things within the norm because that’s what users are used to. I told them not to be afraid of pushing the boundaries because I don’t want to use elements that are already out there. They listened, and it’s meshed well. My only suggestion is that they push their boundaries a little further.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Keep up with their communication level because they’re extremely fast. Their team moves quickly. You don’t want to delay them. If you have the money, definitely hire them.
