Camila Films

 Founded by Frank Pineda and Florence Jaugey , CAMILA FILMS is an independent film and video production company based in Nicaragua since 1989. Its main objectives are to reflect cultural, social and social aspects of Nicaraguan and Central American reality. He has produced several short fiction films and documentaries about Nicaragua in relation to the former Nicaraguan Film Institute, European television channels or NGOs. His latest productions reflect the ways of life in the marginal sectors of our society.

Our achievements have managed to stand out internationally and we have won prestigious awards, including the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Festival in 1998 and the Prize of the Authors Society at the Documentary Festival "Cinema du Réel" at the Museum of Modern Arts of Paris in 2002.

We have also collaborated with international productions on projects filmed in Nicaragua, including: Parallax Pictures. for The Song of Carla by Ken Loach, Universal Picture for Walker by Alex Cox and also: BBC, Channel 4, PBS, TF1, Hallmark Channel. TVE, Al Jazeera, etc ...

Since 2003, Camila Films works as a Camila Films Cinematographic Foundation and has expanded its activities also dedicating itself to the dissemination of national cinematography and the production and production of fiction films.

In 2008 we produced La Yuma  the first fiction feature produced by Nicaragua in 20 years. The film won 16 awards at international festivals and represented Nicaragua at the 2011 Oscars.

In 2014 we premiered  The Naked Screen our second long fiction footage. In 2016, the Cinéma du Réel Documentary Festival presented at the Pompidou Center in Paris, a retrospective of the documentary work of Florence Jaugey and Frank Pineda, entitled: "The Work" .
