CalTek Staffing executed a fast-turn skilled trades search for an MEP Technician with active commissioning experience on biotech and life sciences facilities. The scope was narrower than a typical executive search but more demanding on credential verification, since our project required current OSHA 30, EPA 608 Universal and a state journeyman card all confirmed before a candidate could set foot on a job site. 
CalTek delivered a written intake summary, a shortlist of four pre-screened candidates with all certifications uploaded to a shared portal, on-site working interviews coordinated at two of our active project locations, full reference verification with prior general contractors and a structured 30 day check-in plan to confirm site readiness during ramp up.

The hired technician walked onto a Mission Bay biotech build the Monday after his offer was signed and was billable from his first shift, which is rare for a trades hire of this seniority. He cleared his commissioning checklist on the project two weeks ahead of our original schedule and the general contractor specifically requested him by name for a follow-on phase. 
Total time from job order to first day on site was 23 days, which our operations director confirmed was the fastest qualified placement we have seen for an MEP role at this credential level. We have since put two more open trade roles in front of CalTek based on the strength of this experience.

CalTek Staffing ran a contingency-converted-to-retained search for a senior Civil Engineer carrying an active California PE license. The engagement opened with a half day on-site working session at our Kearny Mesa office where their lead recruiter walked our principals through a competency model that separated must-have credentials from nice-to-haves. Deliverables included a written role brief, a target list focused on consulting firms and public works departments across San Diego, Orange and Riverside counties, a vetted shortlist of six candidates with PE verification completed up front, structured interview guides for our two-stage panel process, professional reference checks and a salary negotiation playbook tailored to the local market.

The hired engineer brought 12 years of municipal water and roadway design experience and held active PE licenses in California and Arizona, which opened a cross-border project we had been tracking but lacked the credentials to pursue.
