The Calnen Studio was established at Stairs Place in Halifax’s North End in 1972. Robert and Barbara Calnen are both well respected in the photographic profession. Robert studied photography for five years and graduated from Brook’s Institute of Photography in California. He acquired his Master photography degrees with the Professional Photographers of Canada and of America. He has won the prestigious Canadian Photographer of the Year award along with numerous international awards.
