How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They already had industry experience to deliver fast projects

From front end development UI/UX they designed some mind blowing wireframes which I was able to show investors and get seed money to get the back end development done

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I can not tell you but the delivery was very fast. Every time we had a directive, it was done in a day or two.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Yes, was able to onboard a few drivers to start testing the application and business model just with the MVP in about a month. This is allowing us to work out the business kinks for further funding in our accelerator.

The company was oil and gas. My Position at the time was Head of the Production Database for upstream (oil production).

For what projects/services did your company hire Business Application Developers (B.A.D), and what were your goals?

We migrated from a Vax, Oracle, Fortran 4 system to a Unix, Sybase Fortran 7 system with an Xmotif front end. Ken was responsible for a large part of the migration including designing new DI3000 plots for the Geophysicist.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Ken is well known in the Anchorage community as a brilliant Analyst/Programmer. This job was particularly challenging and I needed someone really good.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had 9 months to complete the migration. Ken made significant contributions to Analysis and design of the database. Ken's primary contribution was completing the DI3000 and Fortran 4 migration on time with very happy customers, as he significantly improved the plots. They were the best I had ever worked with at solving hard problems.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Only Ken worked on the project and he was the lead Programmer/Analyst.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Moving from a different operations system and database is a significant challenge. Even more significant was moving from thousands of lines of Fortran 4 code (poorly documented) with 4 character variable names to Fortran 7. Not only did Ken complete this job on time but significantly improved the end product (geographical plots).

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

This was a tight Knit development team of a dozen programmers and analyst. We used standard development methodologies and RAD techniques.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I truly believe there a very few people in the world as gifted as Ken.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nope. Ken worked long hours and was very good with the customers. The loved him.
