I’m the VP and CFO of DesCor Builders, a licensed general contractor in Northern California. We offer preconstruction, general contracting, and construction management services with a focus on value, integrity, and innovative solutions.

What challenge were you trying to address with Build Lean?

We needed help reviewing our current workflows, which were spread across several different platforms. We wanted to create our own proprietary platform where our employees could go to a single source that reached out to all our systems to help us streamline our workflows. We also wanted to couple this platform with AI-powered resources to create something really special that was our own and allowed our employees to be very efficient at work.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Build Lean has been building our proprietary AI-powered platform from scratch using our current operating systems. We’ve created a roadmap for the integration of all our departments and their needs. We’re currently finalizing our first milestone, which is our monthly reporting workflow.While building out this workflow, Build Lean has also been building the foundation of our platform to accept the new workflows so that we can easily add them as we continue with our plan.

Build Lean has created a roadmap and timeline for us with the proposal, and we’re right on track, if not ahead of schedule. Everyone really likes the platform so far. We’ve received fantastic feedback from our team, and Build Lean has integrated all the feedback from our employees into the platform in a very timely manner.

How did Build Lean perform from a project management standpoint?

Build Lean’s project management is best in class. They provide weekly updates. The team is always available to chat when we have a question. They’re very responsive to emails and phone calls. They offer professional input to make our ideas even better. Overall, they’ve met every milestone.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Build Lean is very professional and detail-oriented. They provide a lot of information explaining where our build is currently at. When providing options on additional builds we’d like to do, they provide a very comprehensive analysis and pricing structure so we have all the information we need to make an informed decision.
