We contracted them to provide corporate tax preparation and filing services. We didn't previously have an accountant, we just managed the basics ourselves.

They filed our company taxes. We've also obtained some financial planning and tax planning advice from them in order to assist with company structure.

There were one or two people depending on the project.

We received a recommendation from a family member.

We've invested less than $10,000.

We began working together in January 2020, and their work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their advice helped us get a GST credit which we would not have known about if we had filed on our own.

How did Brian Dougherty Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

Sometimes, it can take a while to get a response from them. They're knowledgable about their line of work, but they could improve their project management and customer service.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their knowledge of corporate tax preparation for small businesses, particularly optometrists, was impressive.   

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve the timeliness of their responses. It can take a little time to get answers to questions.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be patient, this team is great at accounting, and they have a deep knowledge of small business best practices, but along with that comes less sensitivity to customer service.
