Please describe your company and your position there.

Our company is a Crypto trading app for consumer, with unique features for order optimization using Smart Order Routing, I worked as the CEO.

For what projects/services did your company hire Brave Wings?

We need a unique UI.US design for our app and website, As an early-stage startup, we needed a team with experience in fintech design focused on consumers. BraveWings fit our requirements and their design was pretty attractive to our use case. Bravewings worked on UIUX for the iOS app and designed our website landing page.

How did you select this vendor?

Based on Bravewing's design work on some of the successful Fintech startups, we liked their work and design quality, after reviewing several design service providers. We choose BraveWings for their experience and project delivery roadmap,

Their team analyzed our requirements, after intensive research and identifying core points in our problem, they proposed a plan breaking down the project, in collaboration with our Product and Eng team they provide us the roadmap for deliverables. This helped us to focus on solving the problems and design-related components in an efficient and timely manner.

Their team also coordinated well with our developers to ensure the product outcome is as per design.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Bravewings give a single point of contact with a lead designer, but in total, we used 3 resources to complete our design project in time.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are pleased about the work they delivered to us. BraveWings team continued to help us even after the contract was complete. We had a fantastic website that delivered our company message and benefits to yours.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

BraveWings has become part of our entire team. As we worked more, they became part of our internal discussion.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their design taste and unique solution for complex use cases were the most impressive. They were working on the project not only as designers but more as product design leads, which made them part of our internal teams. Bravewings is like an extension of our internal team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None.

I’m an executive of a B2B tech company that helps third-party applications connect with users’ bank accounts.

SOLUTION

What challenge were you trying to address with Brave Wings?

We have a phenomenal tech team but lacked design expertise in building out the UI/UX.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What was the scope of their involvement?

We first thought through a product from a UI/UX perspective alongside Brave Wings and then handed that piece off to them to develop. They created the UI of our product’s MVP so that we could raise more money with investors. It was meant to be a short, one-off project. However, the engagement has since expanded.

For the past year, we’ve relied on Brave Wings for our design needs rather than hiring an in-house design team. They contribute to three key pieces. First, they’re designing the interface for third-party users to access their banks. Second, they’ve created a dashboard for developers that use our APIs and access the tools they need to customize it. Third, Brave Wings is designing our new website. We needed a better, clearer, simpler way to communicate our value to different stakeholders.

In addition, we help our clients envision what our product would look like if it sat on their platform. Brave Wings is building out product interfaces there.

What is the team composition?

We have one point of contact who acts as our account manager. There’s also a design manager as well as three people who work full-time on our projects.

How did you come to work with Brave Wings?

We wanted to find someone who could do quality work at a reasonable price. We came across their profile on Dribbble, and their pricing and work were really good.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend about $5,000–$6,000 a month.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started around July 2019 and is ongoing.

We are a peer-to-peer payments company based in the Middle East. I'm the CXO and co-founder.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Brave Wings?

In a very competitive landscape, it was important for us to find designers who not only understood user-centric design but the importance of this in relation to our business. Coupled with exemplary UX/UI design that was worthy of awards for its form and function.

What were your goals for this project?

To build an app that delighted the user from form to function, that allowed users to send, receive, and pay in the most efficient way possible. Furthermore, it was important for us to work with a team that truly understood the user requirements in the Middle East.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Initially, all work was done internally, until we needed to scale. We shortlisted many designers and agencies. We met about a dozen, and ultimately came back to Brave Wings, because their sample work felt right, their attitude correct and their work ethic and professionalism excellent.

They were also very flexible to work with our existing designs, without any push back, rather a lot of understanding and empathy. We don't work with anyone. We spend significant time researching and doing our homework.

Describe the project in detail.

We built a full end to end mobile app. This included Android and iOS custom designs. A design system we could modulize and scale our future features. Our timelines, about 3 months were all met.

As a matter of fact, the team was exceptional at making last-minute changes and understanding of the changes that came back from our user testing every two weeks, while working on current tasks. The team also worked very well with our internal workflow of PRD's, user stories, and content strategy.

What was the team composition?

From our side, it was me, CXO (also a designer by craft). Our Product Owner. From Brave Wing's side, we had one designer assigned permanently, with their team leader/founder on call for anything urgent.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have not launched. But our website is now live with current app designs and more. We expect to go public before the end of the year.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective on the most part. Kudos to Brave Wings for great remote-work collaboration! We never met the team in person, but Brave Wings became an extension of our local team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Quality and thinking around design, strategic design management, and good respect and understanding for client-vendor relationship. Very timely with design, often surprisingly. Good communication, given we do not speak Russian and English not being their first language, they were splendid! No major issues in language.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing major, frankly speaking. Perhaps the only room for improvement would be the ability to work better with emails and meetings via a calendar. We had some issues where there was some confusion on calendar meetings, and which email this was sent to.

This may be a non-issue, as we tend to be calendar heavy. This did not affect the project adversely in any way and was quickly rectified. Keep learning English guys! We'll try for Russian too. We love you, thank you for the great work.
