We're a shipping management company. I'm the managing director.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with the brand team?

We wanted to redesign our full brand, including the logo and a new name. We wanted to market ourselves better in a big market and hoped for a company that could give us a sleek design and identity that attracted more investors and customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did practically everything, right down to inventing our new name. They gave us five new options, and the one we chose is a wonderful play on Greek words. We gave them a brief of who we are and what we do, and they came up with logos, business cards, and all our discretionary materials. They completed a full survey of our market and our competitors, and I was very impressed by their research. They also came up with the logo and look of our ships and vessels. We plan to work on them on web branding and design in the future. We don't have a site yet, but we expect we will need one in the next few years.

What is the team composition?

We had discussions with the creative director and an account manager.

How did you come to work with the brand team?

They came to us through a referral from a friend of ours. We liked their portfolio, and we approached them about this project. They were easy to find and were very helpful.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from around May to June 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We are a niche business, and we only offer B2B services. Most of the people who see our logo respond positively, and we get excellent comments from users and investors. Having an eye-catching brand identity is important to us, and we have a lot of fundraising success, partly thanks to the logo.

How did the brand team perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent and fast. They didn't tire us with questions, and the deliverables were all very good and on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were really professional. We were probably the first ship management company they worked with, but they were incredibly efficient. Even though our brief was fairly sparse, they did an amazing job. I would refer them to anyone.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No; everything was well done. Their delivery and time frame were good, and they were very kind. They were punctual, visited us in our offices, and could do anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them a detailed brief. They had a very good understanding of our business, even with a weak brief. The more you can give them, the better.
