Please describe your company and your position there.

JAC Lawyers is a Macau based law firm with global reach that connects a group of experienced lawyers and collaborators in various legal areas and jurisdictions with extensive international field experience in specialized areas. Our team advises international clients on primarily their Macau and Hong Kong affairs, organizations, and also on various other international matters reaching jurisdiction in the UK, Italy, France and the USA. JAC Lawyers practice areas cover various legal fields such as corporate, M&A, cross-border transactions, tax and finance, family law, real estate, international estate planning, litigation and dispute resolution. I am the founding partner and the CEO of this business.

For what projects/services did your company hire Boston Unisoft Technologies Inc, and what were your goals?

JAC Lawyers needed a sharp corporate website for the legal business we run. Our goal was to create corporate-style attributes and multilingual website that would serve our business worldwide during the upcoming years

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I hired BUT by recommendation from one of my clients. I saw the works done by Boston Unisoft in fintech sphere and was impressed by their portfolio. BUT had a presence in China and I met their staff in person to discuss the future project. This meeting greatly affected my decision.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We needed a corporate style that included corporate logo, attributes and website design. Then we developed a website in English and gradually translated it into six additional languages. We picked Angular as a suggested framework plus HTML5 and CSS3. Website is based on custom-built CMS with optimized security and management features.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were four people assigned to our project. We worked directly with Designer, Project manager and two Web developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

People started noticing our business online and we got more clients respectively. We received positive feedback about the website’s appearance and functionality. It definitely appealed to our targeted audience.

We got people assigned to our project and a responsible person from our side worked with them directly. The project itself was managed by us and our collaboration with BUT was more like an outstaffing deal. The assigned dev team did all the things on time. The workflow process was smooth, and the results were good.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their understanding of the business and experience in technology. I think they have a talented designer who knows how to create great logos and corporate elements.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Considering our location and local employees, Chinese speaking and thinking staff would be beneficial to run any Asian IT projects including ours.

BMFN operates financial markets and offers wide variety of investment opportunities for individual and corporate customers. The company hosts more than 10,000 individual trading accounts and thousands of partnership accounts worldwide. I am the CEO of Boston Merchant Financial (BMFN).

For what projects/services did your company hire Boston Unisoft Technologies Inc, and what were your goals?

Since the beginning of the online trading business, BMFN operated paper-based applications that clients printed, signed, scanned and then emailed together with their passport, proof of address and credit card statement to us. Once received, back office employees manually did the KYC/AML checks and confirmed the trading account opening. In 2015, we initiated the complete digitalization of our client onboarding process.

The goal was to design and develop a CRM system that will onboard customers automatically. The project scope included an electronic application process powered by e-signature technology; KYC/AML checks via API, the connection of payment providers, and many other features that were possible only in an electronic environment.

How did you select Boston Unisoft Technologies Inc and what were the deciding factors?

BMFN was already engaged into the IT services contract with BUT prior to my executive appointment. Once we initiated the digitalization project, we just continued the partnership with this vendor. Management was happy with the services provided and we decided to invest more into this relationship.

We discussed and then designed main sections of the private cabinet system. We divided development process into stages:

1. Private Cabinet section for individual and joint customers
2. Section for Corporate Customers
3. Section for back office employees and section for the Management.

Then we worked on specific reports and polished the system in general.

Some additional features were added later. Technologies used include: C#,ASP.Net, PHP, Yii Framework, Mongo and MS SQL databases

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The team consisted of 7 people during the development stage – 2 backend, 2 frontend, 2QA guys, and project manager. There were more people involved during the deployment and postproduction support phases such as sysadmin/db administrator and technical support staff. The system has been supported by the BUT technical support personal on a 24/7 basis.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We got a Client Relationship Management system that made us more attractive for the customers and saved operational costs. BMFN account management process is completely paperless since 2016. Digitalization gave us advantage over the competitors and made the client-company relationships more beneficial for both sides.

We maintained a constant communication with the project manager and development team during all development stages. Key developers visited BMFN offices and interacted with operational and sales employees. All sections were completed on time and had minor postproduction issues

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have both engineering experience and an understanding of the financial business. Willingness to help BMFN with the transition from paper to pure digital environment. Key developers spent substantial time with us on business trips during the transition process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Taking into the account the complexity of the project, there were some relatively minor integration issues during the implementation of the CRM in Asia. Other than this, we are more than happy with the product received and the vendor in general.

EMFEX provides a low-cost easy to navigate platform for ease of trading of global Mutual Funds. We hold a market-making Australian Financial Services License since January 2011. I am the Sydney based CEO.

For what projects/services did your company hire Boston Unisoft Technologies Inc?

We needed a trading platform and operational software to launch the investment business. The idea of our business is to offer investment products for a wide range of customers. Also, we offer placements for financial organizations such as Mutual Funds owners.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed operational software for our business. This includes:

• Trading platforms for Desktop, iOS and Android apps
• Dealer and Administrator software for the platform
• Client onboarding and management system
• Support of the above products

How did you select this vendor?

I have been working in the financial industry for many years and know “who is who” in this business. Boston Unisoft Technologies was known to me as a well-established fin-tech company.

I was familiar with their trading platforms and apps that they developed for the Forex & CFD industry. I previously met their reps during the financial industry exhibitions in Asia and Europe.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Boston Unisoft has branded and adjusted Mutual Funds trading software per needs of EMFEX. The EMFEX platform is a White Label of the Mutual Funds trader developed by Boston Unisoft (BUT).

BUT developed a client onboarding and management software for EMFEX.com and EMFEX.com.au that meets our business and compliance requirements.

What was the team composition?

For the CRM project - Team lead, designer, system architect, two front end and two backend guys, sysadmin and database specialist. Mutual Funds Platform – the number of involved employees was not disclosed. It came as a package.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Now we are onboarding customers and financial institutions, expanding our business and working on bigger investment volumes. We continue our cooperation with Boston Unisoft and are now focusing on support of our investment infrastructure.

We have only received positive feedback and think that Boston Unisoft was the right choice for the project.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We had a development plan to follow and personal dev manager who was really helpful. All the milestones were completed on time, so everything was well organized in general.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Proficiency of BUT staff in the investment business and technologies. They knew key requirements and solutions more than anyone in the industry. In another words, all the dev team members entered the project well prepared and we benefited from their experience.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I wish they had an office and live reps in Australia. Would be easier for us to communicate from a time-zone perspective.
