Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of product and service development at EG.D. We operate and manage an electricity distribution network in the South Moravian and South Bohemian regions and ensure the distribution of electricity and the necessary infrastructure.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with BigHub?

We needed help with new product ideation and creation for end customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

BigHub has helped us develop a new solution to handle our customers’ electricity data to teach them about their consumption and help them save on electricity bills. The team has been responsible for project management, subsupplier procurement and handling, backend management, and data handling. BigHub has delivered a complete cloud backend with specific functionalities for the app. The team also manages hardware and frontend development by subsuppliers.

We’ve worked with 2–5 teammates from BigHub.

How did you come to work with BigHub?

Someone referred BigHub to me.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

BigHub has delivered a functional app. We’ve received a overall positive rating. Although we’ve had some problems due to it being a completely new technology (using hardware to read out from smart electricity meters), we’ve gained a lot of experience in terms of how the users use it, what functionalities they use, their intention to use it, and if they’re willing to pay for it.

How did BigHub perform from a project management standpoint?

BigHub usually delivers on time and with quality. If they don’t, they’re very straightforward about it and communicate possibilities on how to improve. We mainly communicate through virtual meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’ve had great cooperation with BigHub. Their open, no-frills communication and “yes, we can do that” attitude are very much appreciated. The cooperation has been very easygoing and friendly. Moreover, they deliver what they promise, communicate problems openly, face them, and look for solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any.
