BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Redkor Brands. We’ve created brands for products, corporations, restaurants, and more for about 25 years.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Big Red Jelly?
We work with Big Red Jelly for their web development services.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
When we create a brand, we create a brand playbook that includes everything the client needs for their messaging. The playbook is about 60 pages long. In it, we define everything about the client, including testimonials, keywords they want to target, and branding collateral we’ve designed. We provide Big Red Jelly with that playbook, and they develop a website for us.
In our case, we have a copywriter that creates the key messaging for a particular client. Then, we work with Big Red Jelly to put that website together for a client.
We just started our third website with them.
What is the team composition?
I deal specifically with Josh (Co-Owner).
How did you come to work with Big Red Jelly?
We’re involved in different networking groups. I had met them there, and then one of my clients had asked for something to go through the brand guide for them. I mentioned Big Red Jelly, and they had a good experience.
On the next project that we did, I contacted Josh and told them how we work. After giving them a try, that experience went very well.
How much have you invested with them?
Per project, we’ve invested between $2,500–$5,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with their team in June 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The clients have been pleased with Big Red Jelly’s work. We will likely use them on a more permanent basis. They work quickly, solving any problems the clients have. They build very good customer relationships.
How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?
From a project management standpoint, I thought they performed flawlessly. We would communicate in Zoom meetings with clients.
I was impressed with how quickly everything moves. Each week, we would meet and go over any next steps. It went really well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Big Red Jelly has great systems in place. Their can-do attitude also sets them apart. Their team is knowledgeable and customer-service oriented.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think there’s anything that they could’ve done better.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be clear upfront about what you’re looking for. For us, we have the playbook, so there’s no question about what things should look like. Be prepared, but even if you aren’t, they will help you through that. Let Big Red Jelly get the information and foundation of what you want to accomplish.

We received a referral from a social marketing company. After reviewing BRJ's website, talking with Josh and discussing our needs, we decided they were just what we needed.

We have worked mainly with Josh (Digital Marketing) and Zach (Website Development). But we know it takes a team to bring everything together.

Great communication, always available to answer questions and used Google Sheets for tracking priorities and progress.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Clean, professional website - easy to update, with video instructions included.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
None that I can think of...

Big Red Jelly developed an e-commerce Wix site for a yoga company. The client wanted to establish a platform where they could feature their products. They now continue to make changes to the site.
Big Red Jelly has quickly finished the client's e-commerce site. Many stakeholders have praised the platform's design. Timely and helpful, they ensure that they produce excellent output for the company. They're experts when it comes to web design, leading to an ongoing collaboration.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I just started an e-commerce yoga business last March.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Big Red Jelly?
I started working with a click funnel software and quickly realized that I needed a website built, mostly to improve credibility among my third-party clients. Initially, when external stakeholders clicked the link for my business, it would just take them to the click funnel’s homepage, so I don’t want it to damage my business' credibility. As a result, I got a hold of Big Red Jelly and hired them to create my store and website.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I laid out what I wanted Big Red Jelly to do with my yoga business. I didn’t have much for them to work on. Along the way, we researched a few other pages connected with yoga. Then, I gave them the products I was going to push to my store, their images, and corresponding descriptions. From there, we talked about how I wanted the store to look and how my customers would interact on the platform.
After finishing our website, we came back to them again to clean a few things up in the store and make it more user-friendly.
What is the team composition?
Ben (Director of Growth) was my first contact and Josh (Co-Owner) also worked with us. Those were the only two guys I worked with.
How did you come to work with Big Red Jelly?
I use Wix as a platform for my store and there was an option through that website to get in touch with professional designers. I clicked on that and it gave me a few options. Then, I reached out to a few different places and Ben from Big Red Jelly reached out to me. I talked to him for a couple of days and decided to go ahead with them.
Ultimately, what convinced me was Ben’s attitude. He knew what I was looking for and how I wanted things to end up looking. He just made me feel good about collaborating with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent approximately $800.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership began in September 2020, and it’s ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The store was up and running within seven days. I’ve gotten a few comments on social media that people liked the way my website looks.
I haven’t made any sales on the store yet, but we get many visitors to the website. For the sales, I think it’s not Big Red Jelly’s issue — it’s more of a monetary issue right now because of the pandemic.
How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?
They have a fantastic project management process. They’ve been great and timely with everything that they do. We are constantly in touch with each other and there have been no instances where I'm left wondering what's going on. We mainly communicate through email and Zoom.
Whenever I reach out to them about editing a few things on the website, they finish it quickly — typically within an hour. If I encounter any issues, it’s not a problem because I can just send them an email. Then, they will get in touch within the day or the next day.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s impressive that they’re a small group of people and they just really care about giving us what we want. They always make sure that their finished product is something that we will be proud to have out there. Moreover, they really care about the people they’re working for. I like that the people we've worked with have been super informative and knowledgeable about designing the page and the store.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We've never experienced an issue with them and they’ve always done a great job.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure you know what you’re after, what you’re looking for, and what you want your site to be. You also need to know what functionalities you want on your website. If you have those things ironed out, everything should work out.

Big Red Jelly provides website design and branding support for a jewelry e-commerce store. They’ve worked on the messaging and vision, as well as incorporating unique elements into the design of the site.
Though the site hasn’t been developed yet, Big Red Jelly helped the client establish their mission and create a presence for their brand. The team is skilled in providing top-notch customer service at an excellent price. Their industry skill and clear thoughtfulness stand out in the engagement.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and president of an e-commerce operation that markets in the jewelry space called Risen. We wanted to achieve something complementary with the crucifix and the image of the risen Christ, so we were intrigued to make that a necklace piece.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Big Red Jelly?
We’d just started this new company, so we looked to Big Red Jelly for some leverage on the website and from a social media standpoint. We needed to establish a presence and create something with a strong trendy aesthetic from a photography and video standpoint.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Big Red Jelly started off by doing a really thorough job at understanding our message and vision. Before we even got started on the website design, we had to come to terms with what our messaging, mission statement, and value propositions were. This was a good exercise for us to drill down into what kind of company we are and want to become.
From there, we morphed into the website design using all of the information we established at the beginning. We were able to take pictures of the same marble quarry in Italy that the original statue was drawn from and put it on the website. We’re still working with Big Red Jelly to get it live; we haven’t launched yet because we’re still tweaking some aspects.
What is the team composition?
We started working with their lead contact, who transferred us to Sierra (Director of Brand Design & Online Ads), who has helped us with messaging, and now we’re working with Zach (Digital Marketing Intern) on the website design.
How did you come to work with Big Red Jelly?
We wanted someone who was used to working with smaller organizations and startups. Like with everything, we found Big Red Jelly through word of mouth from a past client of theirs. I went on their website and was able to see how they transformed their site.
I saw other work products that Big Red Jelly developed with other smaller or startup companies and really liked what they were doing. I then talked to Ben (Director of Operations) and he was pleasant to talk to; he walked me through how they go about business and that’s how we got started.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $4,000 on the project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in August 2020 and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Big Red Jelly was able to help us establish our mission and goal on our website, though it isn’t launched yet. I’ve shown a few people the prototype of the website, and they really like the work they’ve done.
How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?
They allow me access to a shared document where we go back and forth on the website content. I’ve been working with Zach on the website design, and we use Zoom to communicate. He shares the pages of the site as we design them. They follow up frequently and set meetings as needed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their pricing distinguishes them from other providers. I didn’t expect to get such strong customer service from them like I’ve received. In terms of the people who have touched the work and their ability to keep the project moving, it’s been impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, the biggest hold-up is on our end — we’re a startup so we’re trying to coordinate our supply chain and get the product where we want it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Really think about the kind of message your company will give in the marketplace. Think about your value proposition, your goals, all of the things we don’t think about when we only think about the product being used. Companies have a soul and they will help you develop that soul for your company.

I own a payment processing company with my husband. We offer merchant services to businesses.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Big Red Jelly?
We needed to update our website.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?

What is the team composition?
I mainly worked with three people. I originally met with Ben (Director of Growth) to make all of the arrangements and then worked with Zach (Digital Creative Director) and Emma (Director of SEO) on the project’s design. I briefly met with someone about marketing.

How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?
We mainly communicated through email. We also had weekly calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve only worked with two other web developers, but Big Red Jelly’s process is exceptional. They’re very hands-on. Their communication style is also great. It was a favorable process.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think so.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
During week two, there were some homework assignments they gave me to complete. It was outside my scope of work, and I let them know. They were very responsive to that, which I really appreciated.

client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re a Utah-based solar and roofing company. I’m the VP of marketing.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Big Red Jelly?
We were looking for an outsourced digital marketing firm.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We use them for SEO, SMM, blogging, email marketing, and Google Ads management.
First, we had a few calls and I gave them access to our marketing materials (ie: our mission statement, values, keywords, and themes).
With social media, they did everything from content creation and 5–8 social media posts per week on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. They also provided copywriting and graphic design too. They did their own research to keep our posting relevant.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 3–4 people from their team.
How did you come to work with Big Red Jelly?
They’re a local company, which made a big difference for us. Our owner heard about them and set the demo. We liked what they had to offer and they were really easy to work with. We compared them to three other options and chose them based on price, location, and our demo experience.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $7,500.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2020. In November 2020, they let us know that they’d be transitioning some of their services and they recommended a new company for us to work with.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were definitely happy with the results. We got a huge spike in our web traffic, lead generation, and keyword rankings through SEO. Our site went from 10 sessions a day to about 40 sessions a day.
How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?
They did really well. We had ongoing projects and monthly focuses, too. Our account representative was really good about following up with us. We had a set call every week where we’d go over all the details. We communicated via email, Text, and Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were very personable. Because they were so small and local, it seemed like they understood our business a bit better than an out-of-state partner. They were able to speak to our demographic pretty well. Their pricing is also pretty good.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Some of the SEO work was pretty surface level. After a few months, we realized we wanted to go a little deeper than what they offered. We ended up hiring a supplemental group to do backlinks and other specialized SEO.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to focus on the services that you need the most. The more specific you get on what you need, the better the value you’ll receive. Some of the ancillary things we had going got neglected a little bit.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the president of Beyond Awards. We do corporate awards, years-of-service sales. We make a lot of custom glass and plaques and coins. We’re higher-end and only sell online.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Big Red Jelly?
When COVID hit and people hadn’t figured out Zoom yet, we needed to find a way to get people updated and get ourselves out there. There had to be an updated site that looked better and was more user-friendly as well.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We basically had them rebuild our website. Over a series of conference calls between them and us, we described what we wanted and they put together a plan. We chose to take this in baby steps, and we had them rebuild our site to start. Down the road, we’ll have them do more.
To start, they went through our old site with us and provided photos, and we provided information, which they uploaded.
What is the team composition?
We worked with three people on their team. Ben (Director of Growth) was the upfront contact. Zach (Digital Creative Director) put the website together on the technical side.
How did you come to work with Big Red Jelly?
I tried to get this project going with a couple of other people but it never worked out. I reached out to a friend for a final recommendation, and he told me about Big Red Jelly.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $2,200 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since Q3 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’ve had several customers say that they love the new site. My business is a lot about timing, so someone who likes our site may not shop it until another three months down the road when they have an event coming up.
How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate through email. When we were building the site, I had a weekly phone call with Zach. He let me know what he was going to do that week and what I needed to provide him with in terms of information for uploading.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They brought their own ideas to the project; we both did. They were very creative. Zach always kept this word and was thorough and on-time. Big Red Jelly has kept their word from day one and never blinked. They have a customer-for-life in me. They did exactly what they said they were going to do.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think so, no.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They’re on top of their game, and they get it. They’re experts.
