What We Do
At Bethlehem Glass Works we continue this carefully controlled process for showers doors and replacement glass by adding to it the highest quality installation, quick turnaround time, and long term support for our customers.
Why is it called float glass?
Modern float glass owes its perfectly smooth sides and uniform thickness to the Pilkington process which was perfected in the 1950's. During the manufacturing process the molten glass actually floats on top of a pool of liquid tin. The glass then moves on to a kiln where it is further cooled to relieve any internal stress.
Which type of glass is right for me?
At first glance all glass may look the same, but each type has specific features and functions in addition to its transparent qualities. We offer shower door glass with different coatings to reduce cleaning and water spots. If you are looking for added strength and safety we can temper glass. We also offer replacement window glass with a coating that blocks only certain wavelengths of light to improve insulation.
