Benjamin Benjamin and Vats (BBVATS) is an architecture, engineering and BIM practice in New Delhi. It was founded in 1980 as Benjamin and Benjamin by Ar. J. M. Benjamin, former Chief Architect of the CPWD and architect of the Parliament House Annexe, and re-established with Ar. R. K. Vats in 1986. Today it is led by Ar. R. K. Vats and Ar. Harsh Vats.
The practice designs large public and institutional buildings across India: the 800-bed hospital at Burari, the District Court at Shahdara, the IIFT campus in New Delhi (Best Building of the Year, Guild of Architects), IIM Bodhgaya, the CRPF headquarters and 4,400 homes for HEC in Ranchi. It has won fourteen first prizes in open All-India design competitions.
Architecture, structural and MEPF engineering and urban planning are delivered by one team on a single coordinated BIM model (LOD 100–500). The studio also provides BIM and documentation services to architecture and engineering firms abroad: modelling, MEP coordination, clash detection, quantity take-offs, Scan-to-BIM and CAD-to-BIM.
