Bax Engineering Company established in 1981 specializes in civil engineering, land planning and surveying for private and public entities. Bax Engineering Company’s in-house resources include over 32 years of project files as well as the survey records of two previous St. Charles County firms. Bax Engineering Company has enjoyed steady growth starting with a mere five employees and growing to more than 25 employees today.

Through this growth, the focus of Bax Engineering Company has always been to provide the highest quality service, quality in design and survey, as well as a high level of response to our clients. As a way to implement such service, autonomous departments were established within the framework of the firm to better service our current clients and welcome new clients. Cliff Heitmann, P.E., serves as Director of Commercial Design and President; Dale Bax serves as Director of Residential Design and Vice President. Darrel Oakley P.L.S., serves as Senior Land Surveyor, Mark E. Collins, P.L.S., serves as Director of Surveying, Scott Kolkmeyer P.E., serves as Director of Municipal Design and Jacki Sutton serves as Director of Marketing. By establishing a single liaison arrangement between client and company, communication errors which could arise from having to talk to a number of different people has been eliminated.

Bax further believes that a necessity to providing quality service is providing staff with the latest education and technology available for the performance of various tasks. This includes implementing the latest survey and engineering software along with the necessary training to utilize the programs in the most efficient manner. Bax also provides professional development opportunities for employees to ensure that they remain up to date on current practices in engineering and surveying.
