Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The project involved the full implementation of an integrated AI-driven industrial safety system across our employee automotive components manufacturing facility in Dortmund, Germany. The scope covered high-traffic production halls and warehouse areas with intensive forklift operations. We engaged AVALTAR Tech to deploy their AVA, SPARK, and EASI 4.0 solutions in a phased approach to simultaneously tackle forklift collision risks, PPE compliance, high-risk zone security, automated safety reporting, and measurable ROI.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Unfortunately the results did not meet our expectations. After the full late 2025 rollout we only saw a modest 18% reduction in forklift near-misses (well below the 40%+ that was discussed during the sales process), and there were still several preventable incidents that the AVA system failed to catch. The EASI 4.0 reporting platform required far more manual work than promised, saving us less than 10 hours per month, while SPARK PPE monitoring frequently produced false alerts that frustrated operators. Insurance premium savings were minimal (under 5%), and we have yet to see any meaningful ROI. Ezequiel was our main point of contact, but communication was slow, extremely unprofessional bordering on sexual harassment, and follow-up on technical issues was often delayed, which extended the pilot phase and reduced the overall effectiveness of the project. While the hardware seems solid, the outcomes simply did not justify the investment for our Dortmund facility.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Their project management felt somewhat disorganized and lacked the proactive coordination we expected for a safety-critical installation in a busy manufacturing environment. The project did not deliver on time. The initial AVA pilot was delayed by almost five weeks from the original February 2025 schedule, and the full rollout of the integrated AVA + SPARK + EASI 4.0 system stretched nearly two months beyond the agreed timeline, pushing final handover into late November 2025. Ezequiel, our Key Account Manager, was responsive and helpful during the early sales and demo phase, but once the project moved into implementation his communication slowed noticeably. Requests for technical adjustments, on-site support during integration, or quick fixes for false alerts from the SPARK system often took 4–8 business days to receive response, if any at all. The team was polite, but they were not proactive in anticipating our operational needs in the Dortmund facility, which led to longer production downtime during installation than we had planned and increased frustration for our HSE and operations team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Unfortunately, we found very little that was truly impressive or unique. Their AI camera systems are functionally similar to several other European industrial safety providers we evaluated — nothing stood out as particularly innovative, more reliable, or easier to integrate than the alternatives. What actually stood out was the gap between their polished sales presentation and the average execution: standard hardware with frequent false alerts from SPARK, modest performance from AVA, and no standout features that justified choosing them over larger, more established competitors. Ezequiel was personable and knowledgeable during the early demos, but became informal and unprofessional, forcing us to change our project lead from female to male by her request.

Are there any areas for improvement or something AVALTAR Tech could have done differently?

The most significant issues were project timeline management and professional demeanor — the pilot and full rollout were consistently delayed, and better upfront scheduling with realistic buffers would have prevented several weeks of extended downtime in our Dortmund facility. Additionally, once the systems were installed, the team should have been more proactive in monitoring and quickly addressing the frequent false alerts from the SPARK PPE module instead of waiting for us to report them. Ezequiel was very engaged during the initial sales and demo phase, but we would have benefited from more consistent and timely follow-up from him during the implementation and post-go-live phases. Faster responses to technical adjustments and more hands-on guidance during integration would have reduced frustration for our HSE and operations teams. Overall, a stronger emphasis on realistic performance expectations during the sales process and more robust post-installation optimization support, and a different team lead would have made a noticeable difference.
