The scope was extensive. Automat Studio delivered two distinct visual ecosystems:

 1) The “Prevention Package” (Adults/Adolescents): A complete visual identity using sophisticated photo-collage art direction. Deliverables included a comprehensive textbook for peer educators, educational board games (box, board, and cards—incl. Trafedo), posters, and supporting promotional materials.

2) “Miša & Maša” (Children): A child-friendly prevention system featuring character design, a comic-style large-format poster, coloring books, puzzles, a storybook, and the “1, 2, 3 From Home to School” board game. Every asset was modular, allowing for easier translation and adaptation across different formats and media.

Reached 350,000+ people via peer education (as of Jul 2017) and localized into 7+ languages. The design delivered high-precision clarity for children, teens, and high-risk adults—across cultures and contexts.

A psychologically engineered education framework—metaphor + gamification—making a sensitive topic accessible without sensationalism. Materials were immediately usable in the field and built for repeatable nationwide rollout.

14+ years in active use with zero redesign—rare proof of ROI and timeless, world-class craft. Automat Studio turned institutional content into a prevention system that still sets the national benchmark.

Automat Studio has the ability to translate "invisible" social problems into a powerful visual language. They didn't just design books; they designed a psychological framework for education. The fact that their work from 14 years ago still looks modern and is being used across Europe and wider today is a proof of their exceptional craft. We’re most impressed by their ability to move between very different contexts – corporate, municipal, cultural, hospitality – while keeping each project visually coherent and appropriate for its audience. They care about details, from typography to print specs, and at the same time bring strong creative ideas that make the work stand out. We also value that we always work directly with Milan as the principal designer, rather than being passed to juniors, so the quality and accountability are always consistent.

If you need a long-term partner who can handle both creative direction and production-ready design across print and digital, Automat Studio is a very good choice.

The only thing we sometimes wish for is even more of their time, because we tend to send many different requests at once. Overall, we’re very satisfied with the collaboration.

• Promotional materials, with a focus on the DVD cover/packaging. A key goal was to consistently translate the identity onto the physical edition and the main promotional touchpoints—especially through the DVD packaging design, as it is the “first impression” the audience holds in their hands and uses to immediately judge the tone and quality of the content.
• Create a recognizable visual identity for our series that feels contemporary rather than archaic, dignified, and fully aligned with the theme—communicating seriousness and atmosphere without clichés, especially important because the primary target audience was a younger population. Establishing the project’s visual identity. We wanted one of the series to have a recognizable visual language that feels contemporary rather than archaic, yet remains dignified and fully aligned with the theme. The goal was for the identity to carry the seriousness and atmosphere of the project without relying on expected clichés. This was especially important because the primary target audience was a younger population—less inclined to accept established forms and conventional solutions. Automat Studio succeeded in creating a modern design for a spiritual theme, without clichés.
• Design and full layout of the book (a ~250-page monograph + integrated DVDs). The book was conceived as a serious, approximately 250-page monograph with a clear structure, typographic hierarchy, and a spread rhythm that allows for easy reading—while carefully integrating photographs, quotes, and supporting elements. The edition also included two DVDs, with dedicated pockets integrated into the covers, so the goal was for the entire product to feel coherent and high-quality—both visually and functionally. The monograph achieved a strong rhythm and the gravitas of a publication built to last.
• The website was not a promotional site, but a complete web edition of the project: it contained the full content of the book, complemented by selected video clips from the series as illustration and an extension of the text. The goal was to organize a large volume of content clearly and transparently, and to ensure the digital experience felt as serious as the printed one—following the same art direction and visual identity as the monograph. Print and digital supported each other, with a special aim to use the digital edition to reconnect audiences with an older, printed medium—a connection the younger generation is gradually losing.
• Branding and digital presence for the series. In addition to the first series, Automat Studio was responsible for the full visual identity, promotional materials, and website for the documentary series.  The objective was to maintain a consistent aesthetic language across both series while giving each its own distinct character. The studio successfully translated the spiritual and historical depth of the icons into a modern digital and print format, ensuring that the marketing materials and the website served as an educational and immersive extension of the TV series itself.

The scope included the complete design of the monograph (around 250 pages: layout, typography, structure, prepress preparation), cover design with an integrated solution for two DVDs via dedicated pockets, defining the project’s visual language (handwritten elements and storyboard illustrations as an integral part of the identity), and designing the website as an extensive multimedia edition that brings together the full book content and selected video clips from the series—under the same art direction as the printed edition. Everything worked as one unified whole rather than three separate projects. The scope also extended to the complete branding and web presence for a second series, applying the same rigorous art direction to ensure a unified brand family for our cultural projects.

The outcome was a distinctive and consistent visual identity that unified all formats of the project—fully appropriate and appealing both for the primary target audience and for other potential viewers/readers. The monograph and the website gained a mature, professional look ready for public presentation and distribution, while the physical edition (book with two DVDs in cover pockets) felt thoughtful, functional, and premium. The physical product gave the impression of a serious, collectible edition. A particularly successful element of the art direction was the integration of handwritten materials (storyboard drawings and costume sketches). Although some of these materials were created later, they were incorporated in a way that feels completely natural—adding warmth, creativity, and a “process” tone that modernizes the atmosphere without undermining the dignity of the theme.
