We also don’t believe PR should sit in a corner by itself. Great brand reputation is built when public relations, media strategy, content and digital storytelling all work together. So we take a broader view of how brands communicate and grow.
Over the years we have become known for doing things a little differently. We have been outspoken about moving away from outdated PR practices, vanity metrics and press release blasts that go nowhere. Instead we focus on strong stories, real media relationships and campaigns that actually move the needle.

I’m the creative director and co-founder of evokeu, a creative agency specializing in branding and marketing for restaurants, hotels, and other industries.

We needed help with brand strategy development. We needed to understand the brand positioning and target audiece of a customer of ours to reposition them in the market.

What was the scope of their involvement?
The Atticism has helped us conduct a brand strategy workshop to understand the vision, mission, and purpose of our client's brand. They’ve also helped us with competitor analysis and identifying the company’s USPs. The Atticism works as a partner for us. For every project of this kind, I generally do the discovery with the customer. After closing the discovery process, I bring Renae and The Atticism to execute the brand strategy.
For this project specifically, we've explored the history, origins, and inspiration behind the brand. We've also done a marketing competitive analysis, target audience profiling, brand name generation, mission statement development, vision statement creation, purpose statement articulation, brand values identification, tone of voice exploration, visual identity elements, word association and mind mapping, brand positioning analysis, storytelling, and a SWOT analysis.
Still, we always have ongoing projects for end customers. We recently completed another project, and we have more coming in the pipeline. Overall, Renae helps us with PR and brand consultancy work continously.

They did an excellent job building our PR strategy and were able to make a relatively tight budget go a long way. They successfully secured the earned media placements we were targeting and helped us meet all of our media inclusion goals.
When we had to pause our UK operations, they also handled communications with the media thoughtfully and professionally. Beyond the core PR work, the team regularly went above and beyond—helping with logistics like purchasing event materials when our U.S. cards weren’t accepted and collecting demo devices to ship back to the United States.
Overall, they were reliable, strategic, and a great partner to work with.

Checked in more frequently on the budget, since everything was brand new to us. It was our company's responsibility, and the agency was not at fault for anything concerning budget. It would have been helpful if they had proactively held these discussions more frequently, since we were in a "we don't know what we don't know" situation. But again, this wasn't on them, it was on us.

I specialise in high end decorating jobs, but wasnt sure how to make that known to the right people, and how to attract the right kind of clients. I didn't have a website, I used a gmail account and didnt really use social media. My scope of work to Renae and her team was to 'make me the go-to decorator for those who care about quality first, and price second.' My goal was to increase my quotes from several thousand dollar jobs, to 50k+ jobs, thereby increasing my annual income. I also wanted to go from a solo operator, to having a team of people work for me. I also wanted to be "the guy" - who doesnt have to advertise, but who gets business leads from referrals constantly.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
This year, we are predicted to reach half a million pounds in turnover. If you consider that last year, i turned over 250k, and the prior year 150k (and prior to hiring The Atticism it was 40k) - i can clearly see, with very clear financial certainty - that since hiring them, my income is growing, year on year - despite financial uncertainty globally.
In addition, Renae recommended reaching out to speciality suppliers, such as Bauwerk, and applying to become a 'recommended applicator' of their speciality paint. Renae helped me with this, and i am now one of a very select number of painters recommended directly by the company. This has meant i am awarded high end jobs all over England, and for celebrities, sportspeople, and more. I often sign NDAs now for my work so i cannot name people - but the calibre of my clients is now second to none.
I also hired Renae to create me a website (content) and enhance for SEO. She also make my company the social media accounts and set up a professional email address (using my company name) etc.
Since using Renae, my company has gone from a sole trader, to a team of 10 decorators running 3 x jobs at once - I also recently hired a site manager to allow me to focus on additional high end work.

Renae is quiet - she goes about what she says she will do and updates me every month on what's happened. She will send me coverage she gets as it comes in - but usually I know in advance what she has planned for the month, and then she lets me know at the end of the month how it's going and what's planned next. We've been working together for so many years now, i dont need weekly updates. If i need something (eg today i needed assistance with a case study for a new celebrity client) - Renae responds immediately and works VERY fast.
