I'm a video producer and director at ThreeSixtyEight, a creative design agency based in Baton Rouge, La.

What challenge were you trying to address with Atmosphere Cinema?

We needed to get aerial footage for a client project.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We discussed the type of drone footage we needed with Atmosphere Cinema on the phone and then met them in-person on the day of the shoot. They walked us through what was possible based on the location and building we were shooting, ensured the drone footage was safe and legal, and captured footage for us to use in our video for the client. 

What is the team composition? 

Paul (Owner, Atmosphere Cinema) was our main point of contact, but there are also three different copilots when operating a drone: someone flying the drone, someone moving the camera, and someone monitoring any hazards. 

How did you come to work with Atmosphere Cinema?

We found them through an online search back when there weren't many companies offering drone services yet, and they were local so it wasn't too hard to find them. 

How much have you invested with them?

A day of drone work costs between $1,500–$3,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working with them on various projects since 2016. Our last project was completed in September 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work is great all around. They're technically skilled, highly creative, and friendly. Every project we work with them on is done professionally and well. 

How did Atmosphere Cinema perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very responsive both through email and by phone or text.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their vast capabilities are very impressive, and extend far beyond just aerial photography. They can put a camera almost anywhere you could imagine: on a remotely controlled car, on a cable, attached to a speeding car, etc. They can achieve almost any type of shot you want. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Reach out to their team even if you're uncertain if you'll use any of their services for a particular project. Just talking with them may spark new ideas or creative solutions that could bring value to future projects.

What challenge were you trying to address with Atmosphere Cinema?

We had a shoot for an Instagram model at a race track, and we needed to hire a film team that had a licensed drone operator.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Atmosphere Cinema helped us produce a video. Their team came to our location and brought a drone and DSLR camera. The drone pilot captured footage using several angles and shots to display the lessons at the track. They delivered the materials at the end of the shoot for our editorial team to process.

They provided a director of photography and a drone pilot.

How did you come to work with Atmosphere Cinema?

I looked online for vendors local to the shoot in New Oreleans and I liked Atmosphere Cinema’s website. When I reached out to their team, they responded to me quickly with all the information I needed and worked with my budget. They also had all the necessary licenses, insurance, and registration, so it was an easy process.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $2,500 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

The shoot lasted one day in January 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Atmosphere Cinema delivered all the footage we needed so our team was able to handle the editing and post-production steps. The quality of the work was great and we had a productive engagement that was within our budget.

How did Atmosphere Cinema perform from a project management standpoint?

They were communicative leading up to the shoot and were very informative through phone and email. I had direct access to the pilot and director of photography, so everything was streamlined. They also arrived to set on time and gave us the invoice immediately after filming.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of communication they provided was valuable—it was the key to our success. Whether we used phone or email to contact them, they were available.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing for them to improve; we really enjoyed working with them.

Take advantage of their streamlined operation and expect quick, direct communication.
