BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

Our company manufactures ammunition and explosives. It manufactures all types of projectiles, fuses, casings and bombs and export our products all over the world. My job is to support the customer in the area of product and quality.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Arus Defence?

We contracted the services of Arus for the development of a documentation system that we could implement in our products. This system had to be interactive, multiplatform and easy to use.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to provide the end user with a simple way to access product information anywhere and centralize documentation efforts.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Arus offered us a modern approach to solve documentation systems in a competitive way. And above all for their methodology to design software that is totally innovative, fast and cost-efficient.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

First, we did a deep-dive into Arus software solutions, its model-driven design, and test it against our company’s briefing. Secondly, we collaborated to rapidly build a prototype in 3 days that solved the key problem of the documentation system. During the next 12 weeks, Arus developed the complete application using their low-code approach and deployed into production. In the end, we provide feedback and optimization tips, that were incorporated and updated in real-time with no disruption of the application.

What was the team composition?

We were a team of three people, me leading the project and two business analysts, to certify the user specifications. Arus provided us with a contact and a communication platform to integrate feedback, ideas and see the progress of the project in real time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The most immediate effect has been to gain the loyalty of one of our customers, implementing this documentation system in their work structure ensures a competitive advantage over the next 10 years and the creation of new opportunities in new programs. We are the only contractor that has implemented this type of systems. The second effect is that we have managed to reduce the costs of documentation and user training from one year to three months, an exponential change

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Arus uses its own technology platform to manage projects and integrates with our internal processes. In addition, we hold face-to-face meetings every two weeks to evaluate the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Despite being a new and relatively small firm, it has a team with a lot of experience and knowledge of the technology. It is not easy to find a development firm with such a high degree of specialization and with such agile and fast development capacity. I may have been skeptical at first, but results show that their methodology works.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As a small company they have limited resources compared to other large firms. We would have liked you to have more points of contact.
