The objectives included creating a non-invasive sensor unit to track movement, noise, temperature, and humidity, enabling real-time data transmission to a central dashboard with automated alerts. 
The ultimate goal was to reduce staff workload and enable early detection of illness or stress through a fully functional prototype.

The project resulted in several measurable successes, including a ~40% reduction in staff time spent on manual kennel checks and a significant improvement in response time, which decreased from hours to minutes due to real-time alerts. Within the first two months of deployment, the shelter also reported fewer veterinary emergency cases. Technically, the team delivered a fully functional prototype with reliable real-time monitoring of movement, noise, temperature, and humidity, along with an automated alert system.

We had a very positive experience with ARTAXE Electronics and did not encounter any major issues. As a minor suggestion, earlier access to interim documentation and more detailed timelines for optional features could have been beneficial. However, these were small points and did not impact the overall success of the project.
