Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the president and owner of a continuing medical education (CME) event organizer for doctors worldwide. Our primary clientele is from Canada, but we go all over the world for our events. 

One of our areas of expertise is content creation — we create accredited medical-scientific content along with our scientific committee. Our other area of expertise is traveling and event organization. We go all over the world to create events that combine leisure and training.

What challenge were you trying to address with aQb Solutions Pvt Ltd?

We’ve expanded our operations rather quickly, and we’ve become the biggest CME provider in Canada. Because we were growing so fast, our invoicing system and events management were getting too complicated without a centralized system.

What was the scope of their involvement?

aQb created a database from scratch, which helped us track our clients’ reservation payments. After that, they’ve started to help us organize events. 

We have about 7–8 different tools that we need to create per event. The tools include anything from ID cards that people need to scan to come to a conference room to simple labels for envelopes to distribute on site. aQb is helping us centralize all the information before, during, and after events using FileMaker and PHP. 

Right now, we're dealing with upgrades related to the COVID-19 pandemic. A lot of things are changing in the travel industry, and some of the things we used to be able to do have been affected by restrictions. aQb is helping us improve our approach.

We're about to start a whole new project with aQb. It will allow our clients to access their files directly on our system.

What is the team composition?

I work with Adreesh (Founder), and he is my main contact. There are at least 5–6 other teammates involved throughout the process.    

How did you come to work with aQb Solutions Pvt Ltd?

We found them on Upwork; they were named differently back then. 

I did a rather extensive review process before deciding to work with aQb. First of all, language was important to me. I know how to speak English, but I can't be with somebody that doesn't speak proper English, especially since it's not my first language. 

The second part was their ability to understand my ideas and transform them into reality. I presented problems, such as our need to create a report every week that would be sent to hotels. I listened to various companies' ideas on how we could overcome the problem. I based my decision on who to hire on their answers.

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent $50,000–$75,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2016, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our team has experienced an overwhelming relief once we started using aQb’s software. The little changes we wanted in our operations have ended up being applied intelligently. aQb is good at delivering what I want them to, and they don’t use shortcuts. 

I had dealt with other vendors before who I thought already understood our goals, but they would fail to execute. I rarely get that with aQb. 

How did aQb Solutions Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We primarily use Skype to communicate, and we also use Zoom to discuss plans and future steps. They have access to my servers, and they can connect to them at all times. Our process is old-fashioned, but it's mostly my fault, and I need to change that. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

aQb is always available. I’ve dealt with other programmers before, both based in Canada and all over the world, and aQb is the most accessible partner I’ve had so far. They can manage my expectations properly, and they’ll let me know if they can’t be available because of a holiday or some other thing. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I like that they're telling me we need to improve the way we communicate, especially since we're starting a big project. That said, I probably would have liked to know that before. I need to be told what to do more. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come prepared, and don’t expect them to think or be able to think ahead for you. They’ll help you as much as they can, but since it’s not their industry, it’s still better if you’re prepared.

I am the Senior Technical Officer of WFCN. WFCN is a unique platform for film professionals to access global opportunities on research, production, co-production, publicity, festival submission, and distribution.

For what projects/services did your company hire aQb Solutions Pvt Ltd, and what were your goals?

2 years ago our founder had planned for a unique digital platform for all film professionals and lovers, so it can create a new buzz in the film industry. Then we planned to take ABQ solutions in our team to execute the same.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched best online web developers and shortlisted some of them. After had a meeting with them we found out that they are the best in the industry based on their project skills and designs.

We had a very intense meeting where we discussed our platform goals and expectations. After a few interactions, their team designed and developed a platform using C++, Java, HTML, etc. And with time they have upgraded and invented several features of the platform.,

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching our platform we saw a 70% increased engagement and the site reached out to the target audience.

We had daily stand-ups with the project coordinator who communicated with the rest of the team and whenever we give them any work they deliver it within the given time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They gave us a professional platform that is easy to manage.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They should work on the minor bug issues and backlink errors.

I hired them to create a health app for me.

We had already done web development work with them and had had a great experience.

We developed the idea for the app as we went. It evolved over time as we could see what we could do, tested it, changed it, etc.

I had one project manager the entire time. He was great.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

AQB is already responsive. Even if it takes them a bit to implement something, there is always constant feedback and communication with the project manager which, to me, is the most important aspect of starting and implementing a project.

My project manager was extremely responsive and easy to talk to in terms of ideas, function, etc.
