Apzumi quickly developed a web-based application for a startup in the digital health space. The application is compatible with a variety of devices and allows users to submit information to physicians.
User response to the application is positive, and usage has grown by 200% at one client site. Apzumi sets clear expectations for both timelines and cost, and they have a good understanding of project goals.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a startup in the digital health space. I'm one of the two founders, and I'm in charge of our technology, operations, and sales.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Apzumi?
We developed wireframes of what our solution should look like, and we needed a partner to improve or develop those wireframes after we signed on a client.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our development required a very quick turnaround time. They helped us create a web application that can be used across mobile devices, tablets, and computers. We needed it to be accessible from anywhere without a download, especially in the face of an emergency. Our key users are employees and physicians. Employees fill out a questionnaire that mirrors the questions a doctor would ask in the office. Once they completed that questionnaire, our physicians would review the information and call the employee. It deals with HIPAA compliance and other factors.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a team of four or five, including a project manager, a technical lead, UI designers, and backend developers. I worked mainly with the project manager, and we occasionally communicated with the other team members.
How did you come to work with Apzumi?
I've worked with a lot of development and outsource partners, and I heard about Apzumi through a founder of another company. When I started this project, he recommended them. I looked at their portfolio, and I knew they'd worked in the health space. From a value perspective, they were a very good fit. Their bid was extremely competitive, and we knew their quality was high.
How much have you invested with them?
Overall, we've spent over $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our collaboration began around October 2018. We launched within a very short timeframe, and we still use them as a development resource. They make updates for us and do technical support for some of our projects.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our users are excited by the application, and we get a lot of good reviews about the ease of use. We've seen a massive increase in utilization from our client site, and we've had a 200% usage improvement since we started. We use it in our marketing, and it really helps drive sales. It has great UI design and is very simple.
How did Apzumi perform from a project management standpoint?
They perform very well, and they set clear expectations. We hit our budget, and they always gave accurate timelines. They understood what we wanted, and we only had to have one major planning call. We use Confluence, email if necessary, and occasional phone calls to touch base.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their value is incredible, especially compared to some of the other companies I've worked with. I recommend them frequently to other people.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could add more developers. They're clear on their timelines, but they could be a little faster. That said, they do a very nice job setting standards, guidelines, and expectations.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Discuss your project expectations at the beginning. The clearer you can be, the better. We provided specific wireframes and expectations, and we had a very successful project.

Apzumi developed and implemented new features for a mental health support mobile application on iOS, incorporating user feedback to determine which elements were successful and which to remove.
The development work provided by Apzumi was consistently the highest quality, and always met budget and delivery date requirements. Their team is communicative and professional and always focus on delivering exactly what is requested of them, regardless of the difficulty of the task.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CEO and co-founder of Elevatr, a mobile application for people with depression and anxiety. The company’s been around for about 2–3 years and helps connect people with different types of mental health challenges to each other for peer support and access to therapists.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Apzumi?
We needed Apzumi to do some iOS app development for us. We already had the application out, but were looking to add more features that our users had expressed interest in.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We did a lot of iterations, so we added and removed features as we tested things. Apzumi helped us evaluate and implement what was working and what wasn’t, and what our users liked about certain aspects of our service and what they didn’t.
In some cases, we provided photoshop files from a UI/UX designer on our end, but in a lot of cases, we didn’t need to because there was already a lot of established design language form the app like buttons, menus, and things like that for them to work from. All we had to do was describe specific new behaviors or features that we wanted them to create.
What is the team composition?
We were typically working with two people, but for larger scope sprints they would occasionally bring on one or two additional team members. In general, it was just our project manager and one developer.
How did you come to work with Apzumi?
I actually received several cold emails from their sails guy, and one of them just caught me at the right time so I responded. They were able to show me some case studies in their portfolio and did a code review for us. I really liked their proposal, so in the end, we decided to go with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our project lasted from around April 2017–December 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The quality of their work was always extremely satisfying. We kept a lot of it and got rid of a lot of it depending on what performed the best with our users, but it was never due to a flaw in their development. They always delivered exactly what we were looking for in terms of functionality.
How did Apzumi perform from a project management standpoint?
Everything was always on time, and they stuck to our budget ceilings for any given sprint. They also provided hour logs for each sprint that were really helpful in allowing us to see how much time each task was taking.
In general, they were very good communicators. We used Slack a little bit, but for the most part, it was email back and forth and Zoom meetings or Google Hangouts for meetings at least once a week.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The best thing about them is the value. They’re obviously much more affordable than domestic developers in the US or even Europe, but you are getting quality that is on par with any of those companies. They deliver really incredible value for the price that they charge.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything that I would say they should do better.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure you think about whether or not what you’re having them develop is actually something you need. They make it so easy to implement things, I think it can be easy to actually get carried away and start building stuff that you haven’t validated, so be careful not to fall into that trap.

Apzumi is working to develop the platform that’s the main product offering of a healthcare SaaS company. The team customized it with CMS capabilities and ensured that it adhered to health data regulations.
Apzumi has done a stellar job in developing the product. They were able to effectively capture the company’s vision that’s now reflected in the look and feel of the platform. The team was responsive and communicative. In addition, they fostered a tight-knit relationship with the inhouse team.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of a healthcare company. We’re building a medical second-opinion platform for European cancer patients
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Apzumi?
We were in the early stages of founding our company and we needed help in developing our product offering.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re currently developing the prototype of our medical platform. It’s a mobile-friendly web-app. They implemented the frontend and designed the look and feel of the platform from scratch.
They endowed the platform with document-upload and CMS capabilities. It also has different interfaces; both physicians and patients can use it. A big part of the project involved ensuring the security of information transfers since healthcare information tends to be confidential.
Moreover, they made sure that the platform complies with European GDPR regulations in regards to data protection. They even had to keep in mind the specific healthcare data protection laws that depend on the country.
We’re in the final stages of testing the prototype with the plan to release it in November. We’re in testing to make sure that the uploading and payment systems are properly integrated.
What is the team composition?
We worked with a frontend developer, a CMS developer, a designer, a project manager, a financial coordinator, and the supervising COO.
How did you come to work with Apzumi?
While we interviewed several different companies, we felt that Apzumi was the best fit for us because they have a lot of development experience within the healthcare sector. We were also impressed by their portfolio. We had some IT support come in to evaluate their work, and they confirmed that they were a recommendable team.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $38,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2019, and the work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In both design and function, Apzumi delivered a stellar product. We couldn’t be more fortunate to have picked them, because they did an amazing job. We’re more than pleased with the look and feel of the product.
They were truly able to capture our vision to translate it into the aesthetic design of the platform. The flow of the platform is very effective in terms of functionality, as well.
How did Apzumi perform from a project management standpoint?
We maintain regular communication with our project manager. We have calls multiple times a week, and if we need high-level input, the COO is available. We have a tight relationship with them, which we appreciate. Our interactions are very easy. Their entire team has such professionalism.
We thought that it would be challenging to work with a remote team, but it’s been working very smoothly. They’re very responsive, and there are so many channels for communication. We used email, Slack, InVision, JSON editor, as well as Google Hangouts for our calls.
Their English language capabilities are great, so there’s no language barrier. They always get back to us right away if there’s anything that needs to be addressed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a diverse team. This really caught my attention because we had an amazing first call with them. It was so easy to understand each other! They’re very effective in capturing what you want, and they’re very accessible, flexible, and understanding.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there’s nothing.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have a clear idea of your requirements, and make sure to communicate that effectively.

Apzumi revamped a SaaS solution as a Java-based tool that used AngularJS, MySQL, service-oriented architecture, and APIs. They dove into the original PHP solution’s source code before building.
The new platform launched with minimal bugs and lots of positive feedback from customers on its ease of use. Apzumi delivered high-quality development work thanks to their technical expertise and diligence. The team remained consistent throughout the project, enabling a high level of service.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of 1time. We supply time management SaaS systems for small and large companies.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Apzumi?
Our website had become very tired and old-fashioned in terms of visuals and functionality. We needed help with rewriting our entire website and software platform using a service-oriented architecture and API-driven solutions.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Apzumi redeveloped our PHP platform as a Java solution. THe team started by reverse-engineering the source code and helping us detail our functional requirements. The new solution now uses AngularJS and a MySQL database—the only stack of technology that was migrated from the previous solution. Apzumi also built in customization options for our thousands of users. The development took place in an agile environment over a long series of sprints, where I was the product owner.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Asia (Project Manager, Apzumi), Wojtek (CTO, Apzumi), Joanna (COO, Apzumi), Mateusz (Unity Developer, Apzumi), and two other people from time to time.
How did you come to work with Apzumi?
One of Apzumi’s team members had worked with another company where I was a shareholder. That relationship was what led me to reach out to Apzumi when that team member was visiting us. Apzumi is based in Poland, but they came over to Ireland to sit down with us. Their flexibility made it easy to do business with them.
They also showed that they knew their stuff, and they were the ones that recommended that we do a rewrite. We were so pleased with Apzumi that we accepted their recommendation even though it would cost us a bit more money. Their willingness to engage with our project without a commitment on our side stood out to me.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran from 2016 until the end of 2017.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The solution went live at the end of 2017. We first introduced it to some of our long-established users on a trial basis. Apzumi helped us a lot with this process. Since then, we have very rarely seen bugs or complaints about the software.
Our user base has grown in part because of our new websites. According to surveys with our new users, 8 out of 10 of them choose our product because it’s the most straightforward solution on the market to use. Also, about 9 out of 10 support calls that we receive for the platform involve a user error, rather than something caused by the software.
How did Apzumi perform from a project management standpoint?
We met with Apzumi over Skype weekly. Before we tested each sprint, we’d have special discussions with them. To record our decisions and share our specifications, we used Confluence.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of the individuals that we worked with from Apzumi stood out. We worked with some superb people who always did what they said they would do. We obviously still had to test things and reconfigure our requirements if Apzumi didn’t do what we expected. But we had a great relationship with them. Any issues that came on their end were understandable. Apzumi was also very accepting of our changing requirements.
In addition, I appreciated the continuity in our relationship. We worked with the same people from start to finish—nobody left the company or had to be reassigned on our project. Losing people is part and parcel of the IT game, but it’s always a pain when it happens. I was glad it didn’t happen during our experience with Apzumi. We’ve gotten amazing support from their team because of it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Apzumi could probably beef up their sales capabilities.
Any advice for potential customers?
Just be completely upfront with what you want and what you need. Don't be afraid to ask for anything— Apzumi knows how to deal with projects like these.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Apzumi promised to provide our company a finished functioning dating app. This app's functions using a virtual platform with a camera function placed on a 3d backround to show transparency for our customers to feel comfortable to see other people without revealing their location. unfortunatly Apzumi could not finish as promised on any of the deadlines provided by them. Every hitch in the road took longer than they said it would and the cost of each hitch doubled our cost on every level. I find that if they give a time table and can't adhere to such time table they should suffer the consiquences of their inability to deliver their own deadline. To this day our project is not completed. We have been prompt on paying them on every hitch and have not been late on any payment. To this day we still do not have a finished project. One of the issues was not their fault and we understood this when it happened. But, for the last 5 months we have expected a finished project which they can not deliver. We still continue to pay them to finish our project and every week they say it will take only 4 hours to do. This has gone for 5 months. I think anyone that uses Apzumi should be warned that they will not hit their project timeframe and will over charge you on every level. They will not finish your project and they will blame it on every excuse possible. If anyone uses them buyer beware. I would suggest never signing a contract with them and run as fast as you can to use another company for your project.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Apzumi was to build a 3d virtual dating app. Our project has been going on for more than a year. To this day our project is not completed even though we continue to pay them to do so. I do have to admit that there was a issue that was not caused by them. But, since that issue has been resolved they still do not deliver on their side. This issue has been going on now for 5 months. On top of this Apzumi has never finished and level of completion ontime and their cost to us has doubled our cost to build our app. Their deadline means nothing to them and we get over charged for hours for their work on every level of the building of this project. If anyone decides to use this company budget at least twice the amount than they give you. they will never come in on their timetable. I find Apzumi to be poor communicators and bad at delivering on their timetable. I suggest not using them. Buyer beware! unfortunatly we are stuck with them but they have gone over the budget to build our site by 2 times and we still do not have a running app to this day.. July 7 2025
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
The project management at first seemed very on top of my project. As issues accured on their end their time became more scarce. As for delivering on time, they have never delivered on time. Every time they set a deadline it took at least twice as long which cost us twice as much. To this day we still do not have a finished product and they continue to say it will take four hours to fix. For 5 months they have been saying this. We never get a response for the upper management and we get info from our project manager. They have every excuse in the book not to finish this project, but they expect to get paid for the work they have supposedly done. Overbilling us on hours we can not justify. I suggest anyone who uses their budget budget at least twice the money they say it will cost.
What was your primary form of communication with Apzumi?
Email or Messaging App
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Not much. They can not adhere to their own schedule on any level of my project. They still get paid by us to finish this project, but they have not. I suggest not using them unless you are okay with paying twice the amount. Then they tell you and expect the project to take twice as long. Communications will diminish overtime, and the excuses will grow over time.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Apzumi could have done differently?
Finish my project in the timeframe that they gave us from the start. Stop charging for work to be completed when they can't adhere to their time frame. If they can not finish something that they said they can do this is not my issue but theirs. Give real time frames that they know can be adhered to and do not push the issues onto us when they can not deliver.

Apzumi is helping us to bring our vision to life. We presented them with ideas and with the help of their product manager and a series of working sessions over Zoom we are working with them to turn this vison into a product.Together, we identified key features and user flows.
Apzumi team members are very focused, detailed and supportive. They listened to our ideas and they offered ideas as well. They have been very patient with incorporating changes as our vision has changed. The project of building the mobile add is still ongoing and we look forward to continuing to work with their high quality, experienced team.
