For what projects/services did your company hire Appcent, and what were your goals?

We wanted to build Mobile Apps for Retail and F&B business to give best customer experience and increase the brand value in the market. Our main goal was to develop user friendly, secured and scalable app using latest trends and technologies.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We evaluated many app development vendors and shortlisted few of them. We selected Appcent based on the team skill set, previous projects and we believed in their potential and trust.

We had series of product discovery meetings and aligned on project goals and objectives. They used latest architecture, tools and design patters and came up with excellent solution to the problems and delivered the projects as multiple phases. Integrated several services, SDKs and developed complex designs.

A project manager was assigned as main point of contact throughout the project life cycle. I was additionally collaborated with App developers and leads.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within couple of months of successful app releases we gained so many new users and got very good positive reviews and feedbacks. Customer experience and the usability has been improved.

Everyone in the team, including the project manager, was so friendly and easily approachable. We did frequent meetings and connect over slack for any kind of technical discussion and team collaboration.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were excellent and they follow standards, best practices in App development. Easily adaptable to new tools and technologies.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The solutions they delivered were excellent but I would recommend to improve on Quality Assurance and Automation.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re one of the largest public research and development institutions in our country. We’re constantly investing in projects across the country and beyond. I’m currently the department manager of the software development division.

What challenge were you trying to address with Appcent?

We were developing an app for one of our projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Appcent is developing an iOS app for a SaaS platform that we’re working on internally. The app functions like Google Drive, Dropbox, and other file storage apps. They’re also developing the UI/UX design based on the wireframes we created. Meanwhile, we’re developing the backend service, Android app, and web portal internally.

What is the team composition?

There are around 10 people from Appcent on our team, including five UI/UX designers and 4–5 iOS developers.

How did you come to work with Appcent?

I came across Appcent’s website, and I looked at their portfolio. We had some online sessions with them, which were followed by face-to-face ones. After that, we gave them the job.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost so far is roughly $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Appcent around November 2020, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve completed some of the UI/UX phases of the project, and we’re very pleased with Appcent’s design process and outputs. The development work is still ongoing, but we can see progress in their work. We get 5–6 releases per week, which is something else that we’re very happy with.

How did Appcent perform from a project management standpoint?

We are working with Appcent team in an Agile manner. We follow 2-week long Sprints and publish releases at the end of Sprints. We are happy with the management style until so far.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m not sure about the US, but here in our country, if we want to get a company for a software development job, we have to be selective. We have to make sure that they have the right skills to do the job right.

In connection with that, we haven’t been proven wrong by Appcent; they have the right skills, and they’re doing what they promised. Their team is great compared to other companies who tell that they can do the job and they don’ have quality outputs to show.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything specific in mind. Perhaps, they can improve something internally, but it’s not obvious to me.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

The client has to be involved in all of the processes and work with them along the road. We can’t expect Appcent to know what’s in our minds.

I’m the mobile team lead at Demirören Teknoloji. Demirören Technology is a part of Demirören Group. It is responsible for developing platforms and software for other group companies.

Our aim was to update Turkey’s leading sports application to a point that users can predict match scores and play bulletin accordingly. It needed live score integration, so we went to Appcent.

In my previous companies, I’ve worked with Appcent on various projects. I trust their fast-problem-solving skills and good work ethic for every project.

Fanatik app is designed as an analysis and news app for sports. RxSwift technology and reactive programming is used for every structure of the project. Appcent team helped us integrate user subscription and premium features to app. Live scores, Match analysis’, Match simulation data and soccer bulletin features were also made by Appcent’s developer.

With the release of the new version, we received very positive comments from users. Our user base and revenues continue to increase with the changing design.

I am the CTO at HurriyetEmlak which is a leading classified company headquartered in Istanbul/Turkey. Our company has nearly 200 employees and we are delivering software which has 15k + customers and 5M + consumers.

Mobile applications were created 8 years ago. It was quite legacy to handle updates and upgrades which were also required by Google and Apple. We hired Appcent both developing roadmap items and re-designing our application.

What were your goals for this project?

Our first goal is removing all old versioned APIs to new developed infrastructure. Second goal was removing unnecessary dependencies and upgrading outdated dependencies. Third and ongoing process is face lift and fixing usability issues while our customers create and manage their listings.

In my previous 4 companies I worked with Appcent and really happy with their work. They have flexible options for working and adapting to clients development environments. Another important part is the price advantage and their transparency about pricing.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are continuously collecting data from both consumers and customers. NPS is the most important KPI assigned to our teams. Last year NPS results got improved and Appcent has a great contribution on that.

Also we keep monitoring crash free sessions. Great improvement happened in crash free sessions. As we are continuously releasing our application each month, delivering high quality software is the key KPI for all developers. Appcent has a great contribution in delivering high quality software.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We are working in the same team. We have one scrum agile board and everyone in the team is working and serving for the same purpose which is delivering sprints without hangovers.

Adapting new mobile client technologies like React Native and Flutter.

The project is live, e-commerce is growing and Metro Fast is working successfully.

How did you select Appcent and what were the deciding factors?

We looked lots of consultant companies and interviewed with them. After interviewed with companies, we worked with appcent based on their developer quality, experience and price offer.

The project contains 2 main parts. First one is the B2B platform, second one is the B2C platform. In B2B platform, real estate agents enter the adverts for listing. In B2C platform, end users can list the adverts with their decisions.

There are 8 developers worked with us. 5 of them are IOS developer, 3 of them are Android developer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The B2B app usage increased 50% per month. The downtime is decreased.

The 85% of sprints are completed on time. We communicated with the team over slack or video every time.

They've analyzed the project deeply, understood our needs, and provided the best solutions.

The Appcent's quality is increasing day by day and I think they can work in different scopes of work.
