Algomine

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and position.

I am the CEO of a manufacturing company

Describe what your company does in a single sentence.

We are one of Poland's leading manufacturers of interior doors, door frames and MDF finishing elements, and we also supply components to the furniture industry. As part of an international building products group, we export across Europe and beyond. Our dozens of collections and finishes are mass-produced on largely automated lines, and we also take made-to-order requests.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Algomine to accomplish?

• We engaged Algomine to build an AI system that supports our mass production lines and made-to-order requests, from analyzing customer requirements to customizing and running the production line. Our goals were faster and more precise work with specifications, machine settings that adapt to the natural variability of MDF and adhesives, consistent quality decisions, and full control over how the AI works and what it costs.

6-10 Employees

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We split the project into four phases, with most of the work focused on our mass production. The first phase covered our veneering line. MDF is a natural material and its moisture varies from batch to batch, so fixed machine settings regularly led to defects. Sensors now check every panel, and the system adjusts glue temperature, feed speed and roller pressure for each door leaf while the line keeps running. Next, Algomine deployed an AI model to support quality control of final products. It helps our team detect manufacturing defects and analyze their root causes, so we can prevent them from recurring. A separate phase addressed made-to-order requests. Customers send us specifications in many different forms, and interpreting them used to take our engineers a lot of time. Algomine built a tool that turns these documents into a structured product specification and points out what is unclear or missing, so we can clarify it with the customer early. The final phase added AI governance, which gives us full visibility into how the AI is used and what it costs.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Better OEE and faster production: fewer defects, less rework and fewer manual machine adjustments improved our OEE, shortened production time and increased revenue per production hour.
• Higher and more stable quality: because machine settings are adjusted to each panel before bonding, we see fewer cases of peeling and wrinkled foil. AI-supported quality control helps us trace defects to their root causes and prevent them from recurring.
• Faster order intake: specifications are clarified before an order reaches production, which shortens the path from a customer request to an approved product specification.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Algomine delivered the project on schedule. Each phase ended with a working module, so our teams could start using it before the next one began. Weekly status meetings kept engineering, production, quality and IT aligned, and when our priorities shifted between phases, the team adjusted the plan without extending the timeline.

What was your primary form of communication with Algomine?

• In-Person Meeting
• Virtual Meeting
• Email or Messaging App

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed us most was that Algomine approached our production as a physical and chemical process, not only a data problem. They quickly understood how panel moisture, conditions in the hall and adhesive behavior affect bonding on our line. We also value the monitoring layer: we know how the AI arrives at its recommendations and what it costs us, which makes it easier to expand its use.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Algomine could have done differently?

We're fully satisfied with the partnership. Algomine met our expectations at every phase and delivered everything as agreed.
