The objective of this project is to lay a foundation step for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) green initiative for Waste Management Transformation. This shall be a pilot project to prove the ability of proposed digital solutions to effectively locate and recognize the most common waste plaguing dump yards, highways, and specified areas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) 

• Fly drones and capture high-resolution images of the specified area (this was not by AI Superior)

The pilot project has paved the way for future advancements in AI and geospatial analytics. The synergy between drone technology and AI has potential applications far beyond the scope of this pilot, offering a promising avenue for environmental and urban planning endeavors. The solution demonstrated high operational characteristics allowing smooth and clear access and interaction with results and analytics. 

This AI-driven solution digitizes the waste objects in a fast and efficient way to reduce manual inspection. The solution integrates drone technology with AI/ML modeling for self-detection and classification of objects. The AI/ML model delivers the accurate location of objects with Geospatial coordinates, identification, and classification of waste, volumetric quantification of waste in each target location, and can find the distances between waste objects. 

The solution provides statistical reports, these reports help to analyze the pattern in waste disposal in target dump yards that facilitates taking necessary actions on respective authorities and precautionary actions to make guidelines for waste disposal.

• Ability for the core engine to segment and type content correctly
• Ability for the core engine to convert HTML content into valid DITA 1.3 without losing any data or semantically important structures
• An analysis of how training can improve quality and performance of the system so it’s clearer how future investments in training the engine could produce better results and the associated cost of doing that
• Prediction model for cost of conversion so we can evaluate cost against current approaches for conversion
• A go/no-go evaluation for moving from POC to a very basic MVP of the tool that would support beta testing from customers

AI Superior created a computer vision PoC that is being used as the base work that enables one of our most valuable product features which is the ability to extract actionable insights from still pictures of customer facilities whilst protecting privacy. The deliverables are based in python and YOLO v5.

We've got a working PoC that actually serves as a base for insights extraction through computer vision, covering a relevant part of our use cases. That includes labelled datasets, working models with their source code, and a documented process to label new images and retrain the models.

It was extraordinary! On the commercial side, Sergei was really easy to talk to, nice and pragmatic, effectively easing the introduction of the projects, accommodating to our needs and superb in meeting our expectations regarding timing, budget and other particular needs. 

On the technical side, Sergio was stellar: clearly experienced and able to find elegant solutions to challenges, he made regular and very clear presentations on the progress of work and answered all our questions without reserves both in virtual meetings and through Slack. Timely deliveries and great support from there on!

The whole conduct of AI Superior was exemplary, but to pick up what impressed me the most, I'd select their commitment to the goals: a significant part of the work was about overcoming the inherent challenges regarding variance and adaptation of the underlying frameworks to the real-life conditions of the images for the computer vision goals. 

Ai Superior was relentless in making experiments, controlling the mean errors and mitigating the challenges applying image manipulation techniques, scanning strategies and labelling improvement until they reached high confidence scoring on training and testing sets.

The goal of the project was to build an AI model to analyze the roofs of residential houses. This AI model would have to detect a roof of a residential house and segment that roof into distinct areas. The model would have to perform this function on multiple residential roof types. 

As input, a satellite image is provided as the output the model would have to return: the pixel boundaries of the roof in the related image; a list of the distinct areas of the roof and their pixel boundaries in the corresponding image. The developed solution would have to ensure high precision and provide an easy way to improve the model by feeding in new training images.

The overall project consists of five working packages:

The overall project was organized into five working packages with clear outcomes and deliverables. We had a sync meeting each week to review the progress and align on new features when it was needed. I appointed AI Superior team to help us with data modeling aspects for one of our released mobile applications. The challenge we had was to understand the audience, their activity patterns and validate hypotheses if we could use these insights to decrease churn and increase user engagement level.

I was recommended to approach AI Superior as very reliable and professional AI and ML service provider. We had an intro call where their technical lead presented us a similar use case they executed in the past. This was very similar to what we required, the tech requirements were almost identical though the data interfaces had to be adjusted. The process and the pricing was very transparent, so we decided to start.

The tech stack was pretty straightforward: it was python code base with custom made visualization. The inference was running on AWS EC2 machine.

The outcome was extremely important for us as it provided a lot of insights about our current customers as well as allows us to make decisions towards user engagements based on ML models scores.

For one of our large semi-governmental customers, we were required to build an automated analytical pipeline to analyze drone images and detect various objects on the ground. We appointed AI Superior for creating this automated pipeline since we were confident in their exceptional capabilities and excellence when it comes to machine learning development.

Since it was a very important project, we were selecting vendors very carefully. We approached multiple companies communicating our requirements but they were just unable to provide a suitable solution motivating it to have an “extremely high level of complexity”. When we approached AI Superior, we could instantly recognize that these guys know their job well.

They showed us several demos of existing systems they have built and then could directly demonstrate how their analytical components work with our data. They conducted a quick feasibility study that was very convincing. The guys from AI Superior were transparent and openly shared all the details about the potential project, technologies, risks, etc. It was very clear to me that it was the right vendor to work with. In the end, it turned out that it was the right decision to go with them.

The scope of work included developing the whole system starting from data ingestion and ending up with results representation. So, the AI Superior team developed all the infrastructural components to manage data in a cloud, created a computer vision model to detect required objects from drone images, and designed a GIS dashboard to consume all the results – one could click on markers, see detected objects, provide additional information, etc. So, in the end, it was a very interactive system that didn’t require any specific knowledge from the user to work with it.

We were lucky to work directly with their principal data scientist who was leading the project. He was able to convey all the information on the level that was comfortable to us and dive into details when required. Overall, it was 5 people involved in the project: two data scientists, a data engineer, a software developer, and a project lead.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project resulted in a significantly positive ROI since the solution allowed to automate many processes where a human would be involved. The final customer was extremely satisfied with the overall solution and reported significant savings by utilizing it.

We had constant interaction with the project lead and when required having a tech person in our syncs. The process was organized in a scrum fashion, we had a sync call every two weeks to discuss progress and specify details. The team was always responsive and available to have an extra call when we requested them to communicate some new project details, etc.

The AI Superior team is very professional and competent — they could guide and consult us through the whole process. I like their open communication style, it was very comfortable to work with them.
