We hired The Agency Engine to improve our onsite SEO in addition to growing our website views and sales conversions.  We also wanted to focus on building legitimate high DA backlinks.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our site analytics show that our clicks have increased 100% since the same time last year, and our sales and acquisition of new customers has spiked in a very meaningful way.

The Agency Engine team is incredibly communicative. Extremely responsive to emails and monthly goals and recaps of the previous month's goals are received in a very timely fashion.  We have not had this experience with other digital companies and appreciate the level of professionalism and attention we have received.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the director of Quote.com, a lead generation site for insurance providers. Customers go to our various sites and portfolios to request quotes, and we send such requests to insurance providers. The providers then compensate us.

What challenge were you trying to address with The Agency Engine?

We hired Agency Engine since we needed a publisher for our guest posts. We needed a team that could publish guest posts for us every month. They essentially provided us with editing and publishing services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, I told Agency Engine what I was looking for, what types of sites were needed, and how we wanted to improve our sites. Then, they put together a portfolio of websites where they could publish our content. The team gave us guidelines around word count, links, and processes. 

At present, we collaborate with them on a Google Spreadsheet. Whenever Agency Engine gets new websites for us, they put them on the spreadsheet, and I say whether I like them or not. So far, we have over 150 websites. Every time we have a piece of content ready for publication, we email it to Agency Engine. Whenever an article is live, they add the link to the spreadsheet and tag us in it. 

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with three people from Agency Engine, namely their CEO and two others working under him. One of them helps us launch guest posts, while the other one provides edits whenever there are problems with the articles or something needs fixing. 

How did you come to work with The Agency Engine?

They were suggested by my boss who had done work with them in the past.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $90,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We engaged them in January 2021, and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Over the year and a half that we’ve worked with Agency Engine, we’ve published about  1,500 guest posts. The domain authority average of those websites is above 50. 

How did The Agency Engine perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management isn’t good. The CEO cares a lot about the engagement — I’d say he does a good job — but he’s not good at communicating. Most of the time, our invoices are late. For instance, we’ll have articles that have gone live, and they won’t tell us for weeks. To communicate, we use emails and Google Spreadsheets. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I enjoy working with their CEO because he cares about his work and clients. On top of that, their costs have been great. They haven’t increased their pricing much over the past two years., and they provide a great number of websites. Every time I have negative feedback, their CEO works on improving what I want them to improve. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We need more frequent communication. It would be helpful if we knew about live articles sooner. If they could add more quality websites to their portfolio where we could get published, that would be helpful, too. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set up a more formal process with Agency Engine. Have an official contract in writing and request for a team of dedicated people that will work with you more professionally.

I have a small web design and development agency and I've used Agency Engine to help out with the content and SEO side for a lot of my clients. They have always done great work and they're still my go-to option.
