Savo Store is an African e-commerce and procurement platform designed to give Africans direct access to the wide variety of goods available in the US. Through our platform, our customers can acquire products sold by any large US retailers such as Amazon.com, Walmart, and Macy’s, as well as products from small to medium-sized specialty goods stores across the US. We provide consumers and businesses in Africa with direct access to more than 600 million products available in the US marketplace. I am the founder and CEO.

For what projects/services did your company hire Zupo?

Zupo was hired to help our company understand the search engine market for our site and better understand what it takes to succeed when it comes to search. We understand our operations extremely well and we understand the ecommerce business well, however we needed more help in getting the word out for our business.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to get our site going in the right direction in terms of SEO and begin to acquire traffic from search engines. We felt there was a big opportunity we were not taking advantage of. Our operations, pricing and quality of service is top notch, however our business and brand was not always in front of prospects and that is what we needed the SEO to help us.

Zupo was recommended through my network of business contacts. i have many friends who are fellow business owners and founders and one of my contacts introduced me to Zupo. After developing a strong rapport I decided to work with Zupo.

Savostore needed SEO. Plain and Simple. Zupo guided us on figuring out the exact keywords that we needed to focus on to align with our business goals, while steering us away from nonsense keywords that may have looked attractive but were not a strong play for us. This includes keywords that may have been too competitive or otherwise irrelevant due to Google Search results not aligning with our business.

What was the team composition?

I worked closely with the founder of Zupo and had many emails, phone calls and in person meetings where we were able to discuss many details. A couple members of my team were involved, however I controlled most of the operations and communication between Zupo and Savostore.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Rankings are great, sales are great, leads are coming in. Our business has a much stronger understanding of SEO and now we know exactly what keyword topics and groupings that we should be focusing on. Our SEO continues to grow and the results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Seamless. Working with Zupo they were always on top of the ball and controlled the direction of the strategy. They kept us on the path and when we fell behind they would keep us accountable.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Zupo gets communication. As opposed to other companies that can often go dark or can be relatively slow in communication, Zupo was always on the ball in getting back and communicating in a way that we could understand and aligned with the top level strategy that we are concerned about.

None I can think of. Zupo has been great!

We decided to hire Zupo to help us develop a much stronger SEO strategy. Our goal was to help drive our key demographic to our website and ultimately our store.

We wanted to improve our rankings in specific keywords, optimize our webpage, and ultimately help drive organic traffic to the website.

We found them through a referral. Jason had previously done work for a friend of mine in the restaurant industry. He highly praised Jason's knowledge in SEO and his ability in adapting SEO methods to fit my friend's restaurant goals.

We started with a formal meeting at one of our store locations in the city of Orange. We discussed several things including an introduction of ourselves, our goals, growth tracking, and meeting preferences. We agreed that meeting once a month was important and phones call for follow-ups.

Once our first meeting concluded, we went our separate ways and Jason said he would follow-up in the next few days while he conducted some research on our industry along with a strategy. He found that our website was lacking links, content, and website optimization. Apparently the strategies we had been previously working with were outdated and new SEO techniques were required. Jason updated me on the focused keywords he would target.

Both Jason and I communicated everything among each other and we assigned tasks based on what was necessary.

In 2018, our organic search leads had taken a great hit. I didn't necessarily understand why our clicks had dropped dramatically.

It was very effective. Never felt like I was out of the loop on what was going on with all projects.

The staff was extremely knowledgeable and professional when I had any questions. At the end of the month we meet in person to discuss the progress of projects and the improvement reports.

It's hard to pinpoint one area of improvement since our goal was to increase online traffic.

We had all of the basic things like some keyword usage and SEO tags on the website, but Zupo came in and supercharged our SEO efforts They helped clarify and establish our keyword strategy, build the necessary pages we needed and start linkbuilding for those priority pages. They got all of our resources and processes more streamlined so that we could ultimately start seeing SEO success

Increased Organic Traffic YoY 25% and we saw our 1st page keywords improve by 30%. This has led to increased activity on our site and more leads incoming.
