High-Fidelity (High-Fi) Mockups: Develop polished, high-fi mockups based on the approved low-fi concepts and the design system. Only desktop size high-fi mockups are needed unless we identify and agree on a particular mobile or tablet view being necessary in high-fi. Incorporate visual elements such as colors, typography, and imagery to accurately represent the final design.

Many traditional design agency have a process that can be too rigid for the startup environment. Our company was set for a rapid increase in users, as we transitioned from a period of online events to in person events. In order to facilitate this transition we had several key UX/UI projects where we required significant support to be able to successfully onboard those users and set ourselves up for success moving forward.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were introduced to Zero to Design from a third party.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The overall project could be split down into several 'mini-projects' but each project followed similar steps. A kick off session, lots of research, customer feedback and then first stage designs. Following feedback, this would progress to 90% designs and we'd then iterate on those designs until sign off.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with three main individuals. One was overseeing the project and stepping in to advise where required, another was the main product designer, producing the majority of the designs and leading on communication between stakeholders, and the final person was a junior designer supporting the lead product designer in the workload.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are pleased with the output from Zero to Design, from their ideas and creativity through to the designs implemented into production. The support we received during a crucial time in our development stage allowed us to scale in a very short space of time to meet a huge increase in demand and ultimately users on our platform.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Zero to Design were very effective with communication. They were able to clearly articulate next actions and update me on progress from their side, as well as what they needed from us to be able to operate effectively. At times this involved external developers and they were able to continually lead communication which was a massive help.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The designs themselves were the thing I found most impressive. Ultimately, the output that we were looking for. They worked with us to deliver UX/UI that we thought was of a really high standard. Second to that was the speed at which they could take feedback and iterate those designs based on that.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

More nuanced projects like our overall design library was a difficult project to measure progress on and demonstrate value with the wider team. It would have been great to be able to have all team members able to really see the value that this brought in both the short and longer term.
